Just got my Google TV Streamer box Wednesday. First thoughts are nice looking and fairly responsive UI. One major gripe I have is no apparent way to rent or purchase movies. There is no “store” where you go and see new releases, search categories like documentaries, etc. from what I gather, they want you to use YouTube for that. I still prefer my FireTV Cube and they way it presents content.

It’s great to hear that you're liking the design and UI of the Google TV Streamer! You’re correct; unlike Fire TV Cube, Google TV doesn’t have a built-in "store" for movies and shows. Instead, it aggregates content from different streaming apps and services, and for rentals or purchases, it typically directs you to YouTube.

If you’re used to Fire TV’s content browsing experience, this can definitely feel a bit different. However, you can customize your Google TV home screen by adding apps like Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, or others that offer rentals and purchases, which should make it easier to find what you're looking for. You could also try using Google Assistant to search for specific genres or titles, which will show you viewing options across different services.

If you still prefer Fire TV’s layout, I’d say go with what works best for you—it’s all about finding the right fit for your viewing habits!

For me personally, I think both Google TV OS and Android TV OS all feel bloated on the home screen

I choose Project Ivy soo clean and fast. Just icons, nothing more.

The name is one word. I was confused on what you were talking about. LOL

No update since April? You have tried it on the Google TV Streamer?
