This is a strange and ironic take...  The US govt is already made up of rich people that line their own pockets.  When members of congress have a yearly salary of $175k, but yet their net worth skyrockets into the millions, it's no secret what they're doing.  Corporations and the nation's richest have been funneling them money forever.
You say that the incoming admin striking down decades of work like it's a bad thing.  Clearly the US govt has been corruptly spending (wasting) far too much money and running itself into default, so why should we maintain that path?  The lower class has always suffered and the ever increasing inflation and costs of living have hurt them the most and keeps them down.  Come election time, the left panders for their votes, gets their votes, and then doesn't help them.  Rinse and repeat every 4 years.  The system clearly isn't working.  The waste needs to be eliminated so that the taxpayers aren't p*ssing away money on things that don't benefit them at all.  This is probably the first time that a major govt change will actually benefit not just the rich, but everybody.  Inflation will down and taxes can go down if the spending is under control.  Everybody should be rooting for that...

No there isn't going to be a new Revolution and public executions isn't coming back either.  Not sure why you'd even think that...
This CEO being killed is just another example of a mentally unstable person that needed help or to be locked away.  It's pretty sick that people on the left are celebrating the guy.  First they rooted for the terrorists and now they're rooting for murders.  And they wonder why they lost the election...

*sigh* Ok, I'll play ball...

First off, I'm not sure what is ironic about the take. You're going to need to explain that to me, or maybe look up the meaning of irony.

To your point that the US government is already made up of rich people, I agree. But I'm sure you can understand the concept of a tipping point, and how from an outsider's perspective the US is getting there right now. It was written in the gorram manifesto as to why he did what he did.

Your next argument is that the regulations in place have hindered people. I agree that the regulations have hindered companies from doing what they want without any regard to the people. I'm going to take a stab and guess that you're anti-union?

The regulations that are getting removed hurts everyone, in the short and long term, and only benefits the companies and them that are in charge.

I also agree that the system clearly isn't working. A multi-billionaire shoving millions of dollars to his preferred party is not how things should be won.

We'll have to wait and see about inflation. Although I wouldn't put money on it coming down, as now that Trump has won even he admits that it probably won't happen.

"Public executions isn't [sic] coming back." You do realise what the topic of this thread is, right?

And finally, who are the terrorists in your second to last sentence?

Kinda

90% error rate means that for claims which were checked by United's AI, 90% of them were incorrectly denied even if they should have been approved. AI wasn't checking every claim, but even as someone who can code well a 90% error rate is irresponsible and dangerous when people's lives are at stake. The real knife twist was that the United CEO who was murdered knew how bad it was and from what I understand actively pushed against fixing it despite people dying.

You make it sound like this "error rate" is unintentional... They knew exactly what they were doing when they denied those claims... Insurance companies always do everything they can to wiggle out of paying up. The whole industry is nothing but corrupt.

Why are you assuming it's only people on the left celebrating that guy? And what terrorists are you referring to?

I used to work at some.  They have metrics for everything and that's how actuaries and stuff work.

They'd call this "acceptable risk".  Now CEO's are gonna expect security with them and cry about how hard they have it.

Racist Dylan Roof who targeted and killed 9 black people wasn’t charged with terrorism charges…

Are there terrorism laws where Roof was at? I thought NY was one of the few states that had state level terrorism charges... Luigi was a state level terror charge, even the feds didnt charge him with it

Which was stupid, considering the definition of terrorism at the federal level.

Just as it’s stupid to charge Luigi with it in the New York murder.

NY is kinda a different place considering they were a major terrorism target

Many believe that Roof's actions fall under the definition of terrorism, but the term is often officially used only in cases involving international threats or groups, rather than individual perpetrators.

Terrorism is properly defined as the use of violence or intimidation, usually against civilians, to achieve political aims.  It can be done by groups or individuals, it doesn't matter.

The Unibomber was a domestic terrorist... This guy technically falls under the definition of domestic terrorist also... using a political goal (in this case healthcare) to terrorize a group of people (CEOs)

So killing one CEO is terrorizing a group of CEOs?

The size of the target is irrelevant.

Im just trying to understand how killing one person is terrorizing a group of people. He didn't target a group, just the one person he found responsible for denying the treatment he needed.

And in doing so, instilling terror in all the other CEO's doing the same thing.  Again though, the size of the target doesn't matter to be classed as a terrorist act, nor even the intent behind it really.  The act of using violence for political aim, which most people consider this to be, is sufficient to meet the definition.

I believe it has to do with his manifesto, where he did target CEO's in general. I also don't believe he even had UH as his insurance. That CEO was just an easy target based on public info.

treatment he needed? UHC said he wasn't insured by him so he wouldn't have been responsible for that in any way

I can understand why they are calling it terrorism. A bunch of people that thought they were in no danger with their actions are now terrified because their actions are coming with threats and attacks. It is terrorism in that people are trying to affect change with the threat of violence.

    • Thanks, Sony and Nintendo, you effectively killed platform-agnostic gaming. Long gone are the days when you could wish to play a specific game on whatever platform you were. Now, you have to buy the hardware just to play that single game. What, you're only interested in THAT game and nothing more? Bad luck, suck it and buy our console.

    • "CRAZIER than ever!" Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially coming soon by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Sega announced it is working on bringing back some of its classic franchises in 2023, and while it has taken some time, the company finally gave fans a look at one of these new projects at the Xbox Games Showcase today, which turned out to be a brand-new Crazy Taxi entry. Watch the debut trailer above, which has snippets of gameplay in between the cinematic bits while blasting a track from The Offspring. Dubbed Crazy Taxi World Tour, this installment is aptly being described as being "CRAZIER than ever!" The director behind the original, Kenji Kanno, is helming this new entry as well, which will come with access to five new cities to drive in, competitive multiplayer modes, a vehicle customization system, and more. Axel is returning as a protagonist as well, but this time a mystery driver is offering him the opportunity to take his adventures to the streets in other countries. This will involve Axel chasing down masked villains that have somehow stolen his taxi, which means even more extreme missions and challenges to overcome. "From transporting passengers at top speed to tackling unique side missions and odd jobs across dynamic maps, there are countless ways to drive crazy and rake in big money," says Sega about this new installment after over 20 years. "Perform outrageous drifts, catch insane air, and drive at crazy speeds across five different cities as you work to deliver passengers and complete a variety of missions and challenges." The studio has even confirmed an in-game Arcade Mode that players will be able to access containing the original games for plenty of nostalgic action. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is currently slated to release sometime in 2027 across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
    • This and Crazy Taxi are the two games that interested me the most from this showcase.
