[NFL] Kearse Signs With Eagles

Recommended Posts

In a deal that makes Kearse the highest-paid defensive lineman in NFL history, he will sign an eight-year contract worth $66 million. The pass-rush terror nicknamed "The Freak" will receive a signing bonus of $16 million. There are additional roster bonuses of $2 million each in the first two seasons, essentially guaranteeing $20 million of the deal.

I didn't even know he was a free agent.....

This has been the best thing to happen to my team in such a long time, I think I am going to cry.

Now on the local philadelphia news channels they say the Eagles management is really talking with Terrell Owens and trying to get a trade deal going and he could be signed as early as Friday if it is true. In the words of the news reporter, things are getting "hot and heavy".

as great as this is, keep in mind that vincent and taylor are both free agents. i know they have sheppard and brown but the verteran leadership of these two guys will be felt in the secondary. staley is gone as well but there is westbrook if he can come back from that torn tricep (bicep?). im a die hard eagles fan but im not getting excited as of yet. i will be a bit more excited if they sign TO.

The Eagles message board is exploding and a regular on the board posted this in a thread:

I was down in Fort Lauderdale for a job interview today and had just gotten a voicemail message from my brother around dinnertime that the Eagles had signed Kearse! I was so pumped and headed back to the airport to come home. I am in the metal dectector line at the airport and lo and behold who do I see RIGHT in front of me but Jevon Kearse and his marketing agent.

He was on the phone talking to someone but as soon as he got off I shook his hand and congratulated him on the deal. I then told him that I was an Eagles season ticket holder and how glad we were to have him. He said he was really happy to play for the Eagles since they were in back to back to back NFC Championship games.

I then told him how sick the Eagles pass rush would be with him, Corey and Darwin and he said that he already talked to Corey on the phone about it.

I then said that I heard the Eagles were also trying to get Terrell Owens and he said "I heard it's already done."

Hmmm.

Ahh and the offical Eagles sports reporter had this to say on the forum. And yes I know it is his opinion, but he as never really lied about anything in his articles for the webpage or on the boards. I won't be able to sleep tonight with this much hype. The 49ers said the decision about what to do with TO should be in 72 hours.:

Q:

Dave in your HONEST Opinion...., will the Eagles get TO??

Remember I want YOUR OPINION.....I wann know what YOU think.....I'm not asking whether the Eagles will to get TO..you know...

A:

ummmmmm

My opinion .... based on nothing but my opinion, right? I don't know that much ...

Yes.

I could be wrong, of course. Things change.

Good night. I'm out. Delete this thread before I get fired.

And also:
I'll give you this: it's not a big cornerback ... and I'll give you this ... I asked somebody who would know about T.O. and got a "No comment" back. Take it for what it's worth

I have been on the Eagles boards long enough to know this so usually when Dave doesn't say "NO" outright that is a very good sign.

that would be something though if they nab TO... but lets see what today or friday holds... should be interesting... hope the vikings pick somebody up in the free agent market.... oh yeah to put all rumors to rest, the vikings arent in talks to trade Randy Moss to the Dolphins... if anyone heard this, its just BS!!!

On NFL Access @ 11pm, both Seth Joyner & Brinson Buckner said TO and Philly is all but a done deal.

If this deal works out I am going to crap my pants or have a heart attack. Maybe both at the same time. I do not even want to go to bed tonight until I hear the news if we got him or not. I can tell you first hand, no one in Philadelphia is sleeping right now, this is all too much.

Well they better assign him a permanent room :p

Look at it this way, what do the Eagles have to lose? After we lost the presence of a big player for the rest of the team to look up to like Hugh Douglas, the defense has never really been the same, especially with the rush defense. And Jerome McDougal is not as intimidating as Hugh was. We can't even get over the NFC championship hump so the only solution is to do something drastic and a little risky to shake things up. Perhaps Kearse can bring that intimidation factor back. And teams should be worried now, the combination of Darth Dawkins and Kearse could end the careers of a few QBs.

I am without a doubt keeping the faith for T.O.

It would might just erase some of the heart-ache of the past three years. Plus I think both parties are anxious to work together, which is unusually enough in the NFL to make a deal happen. I'm so glad Washington passed on him during the regular season last year.

    • More Microsoft Account headaches: Office 2024 licensing bug finally gets detailed fix by Sayan Sen Microsoft often highlights the benefits of a Microsoft account (MSA) as it points out the unified access users get across devices and services like Windows, Office, OneDrive, and Xbox, which can help in synchronization of files and settings for convenience. That is also why it is a mandatory requirement during Windows 11 installs. However, there can be major problems too. For example, earlier this month, we reported on an incident wherein a Windows user was locked out of their Microsoft Account when Windows flagged their OneDrive upload activities, and apparently there was no way to recover their account. We discussed how, in such a case, users can lose all their data, especially if it's BitLocker encrypted, which is not all that unlikely on Windows 11 24H2. You can read the story in full in this article here. Meanwhile, on the topic of MSA, Microsoft has finally released a detailed step-by-step guide for fixing the Office 2024 licensing bug. The tech giant had already published an update earlier back in December last year. While that was supposed to fix the issue, the problem likely persisted for many users. For those who need a refresher, users whose Microsoft accounts held licenses for both Office 2024 and earlier editions like Office 2021. After upgrading to Office 2024, the MSA continued to display the older version. At the time, Microsoft only stated that installing the latest version of the Office 2024 app would fix the issue. This week, though, a detailed guide has been shared. The company writes: You can find the support article here on Microsoft's official website.
    • Hey Neowin folks, I’m struggling with my Samsung QLED Q80C smart TV’s Wi-Fi dropping randomly. It connects to my 5GHz network but loses signal every 20–30 minutes, interrupting streaming. Details: Device: Samsung QLED Q80C (2023 model), Tizen OS, firmware updated to latest (May 2025). Network: TP-Link Archer AX73 router, Wi-Fi 6, 5GHz band, WPA3 security. Environment: TV ~10 feet from router, no major interference (tested without microwave or cordless phones). Setup: Streaming Netflix, YouTube via built-in apps; issue persists across apps. Steps Tried: Restarted TV, router, and modem. Switched to 2.4GHz band—same issue, slower speed. Assigned static IP to TV in router settings. Reset TV network settings and reconnected. Checked router logs; no disconnect errors logged. Searched Neowin; found a 2024 thread on Wi-Fi issues but no TV-specific fixes. Expected: Stable Wi-Fi connection for uninterrupted streaming. Actual: Wi-Fi drops every 20–30 minutes, requiring manual reconnect. Has anyone faced Wi-Fi dropouts on Samsung QLED TVs or Tizen OS? Could it be a firmware bug or router setting? Any debug tips or workarounds? Thanks for any ideas!
    • I can see why you would need an AI browser
    • if you get your MSA locked and can't recover it, and if you are on win 11 24H2 that can do automatic encryption (on Home editions too), then the BitLocker key goes with that account.
