Bruinator
Hi, I bought this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GYDYV49?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and i found out it is the exact size as the elight fixture for my light outside. Is there a way you guys can think of that would hold them together. Thx Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1458234-light-fixture-issue/ Share on other sites
Matthew S.
It might help to have a photo of the fixture... Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1458234-light-fixture-issue/#findComment-599009733 Share on other sites
Bruinator
i am looking for a way to thin out the neck on the globe so it will fit inside the light fixture and allow the screws to hold the globe in place or to connect it together some way. Bruinator
The screws on the light fixture hold the globe in place. oCYBERDOGo 1 Share Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1458234-light-fixture-issue/#findComment-599010055 Share on other sites
oCYBERDOGo
It looks like you will have to back out the screws. There may be three or four. Since it looks like the light itself is corroded. It may take some effort to back them out. I'd recommend using WD-40 to loosen them and clean the rust off of them. This is to prevent the screws from breaking off. Use a pair of pliers to back the screws out. Or use a flat-head screwdriver. Fit the globe into the light fixture socket. Tighten down the screws with your thumbs. Don't use the pliers to tighten the screws down. If using the flat-head screwdriver, torque them down. They don't have to be too tight. Just enough to hold the globe into the light fixture to prevent the globe from falling out of the light fixture. You may use too much force! Be careful not to overtighten them or you will crack and even shatter the globe. Jim K Global Moderator Posted August 26, 2025 Global Moderator Share Posted August 26, 2025 I would think the best course is to return what you have (since it isn't the correct size) and get the correct size. Measure inside the rim of the light fixture.
