You have to wonder what all happened to get this CoPilot app installed on these LG TVs in the first place.

It's more than just a JPG on the screen.  There were talks between LG and Microsoft, contracts signed, software written, and I'm guessing Microsoft gave LG money to do this.

So does LG have to give the money back to Microsoft?

They could be betting on those people who aren't smart enough to remove it outnumber those that do.
