No numpad on ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614FR-S5013W (AMD-version); how come?

I just received my new ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614FR-S5013W.

However, on the mousepad I don't see the NUMLK (as shown in the image). And also on Armoury Crate I don't have this option listed for numpad.

I also tried the 'One-click driver download and install' from the ASUS product page to maybe get some additional options.

The latest BIOS is installed.
Not Windows 11 25H2 yet, but I think this shoud not matter for this issue.

Have I gotten the "wrong" model? Or maybe the 2024-edition (and if so, do I need to switch to the Intel version of this one (ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LP-S5088W)?
It has the Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU and RTX 5070 Ti GPU, so I do think it's the 2025-lineup. Just the 'missing' numpad.

The pictures are from the product site of the webshop I ordered this AMD-version from. I might have been 'stock photos' though...

In Armoury Create the notebook image is displayed as, where the NUMLK is kinda displayed...

I have uninstalled AC via the official uninstall tool, and reinstalled it with the AC installer. Both in admin-mode.

It's not apparent and not clearly visible. And cannot be touched/selected.

I read that too and seems to be the case for 2023 models.. For the 2025-lineup I have understood that this changed for the 'regular' Strix.

Plus, given the screenshots it looks like this (2025) model has the numpad.

Asus mentions on its own website https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-strix/rog-strix-g16-2025-g614/spec/ the're a "Support NumberPad"

(different type as I have though, the G614FR-S5170X & G614FR-S5169X; I'm having the G614FR-S5013W)

This is mentioned in the manual.

It looks like my model or territory "is different" and this Numlk feature not available.

Found this on the ROG Forum... maybe it has something to do with region. But it's not communicated clearly, incl. pictures & reviews of 'numpad' models, in what region these SKUs are available (or not available).

I guess there's a few options here:

• accepting it doesn't have a numpad
• accepting it doesn't have a numpad & getting a separate, external, numpad
• getting a 18" model with a numpad included, such as ASUS ROG Strix G18 G814FP-S9006W (with nu Ti GPU, 'just' the 5070)

The first thing is not an option... better get myself the numpad in that case.
The 18" is very, very large in sizing, also compared to the 17" I'm having now.

EDIT:
Question here is: How many times do I use the numpad? Is it annoying not to have one when you 'expect' it to be there? Or can an external numpad fill the 'void'?

Having searched and looked for decent (gaming) notebook with 16" or 17" screens, and CPUs like AMD Ryzen 9 or Intel Core Ultra 9 CPUs, there aren't that many notebooks (from Asus, MSI) that have a numpad (fysically) included on the keyboard.

There are some of Asus TUF, but these have screen resolutions up to 1920x1200 and AMD Ryzen 7 or Intel Core i7 CPUs. Some of them with prices equal to a notebook with no numpad, but far better CPUs such as Ryzen 9/Ultra 9.

I really like the specs and 16" screen on this notebook.
Similar specs (CPU/GPU) with keyboard included cannot be found, or really hard to find. In the same price range.

So either toss it away, and go with a 18" model. Or stay with this one, with something extra

From looking at Lenovo's website, it seems many of the 16" laptops have a number pad:  https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/d/gaming-laptops/?IPromoID=LEN135772&visibleDatas=790%3ALegion%209%20Series%2CLegion%207%20Series%2CLegion%205%20Series%3B696%3AIntel%C2%AE%20Core%E2%84%A2%20Ultra%209%2CAMD%20Ryzen%E2%84%A2%209.  The number pad keys appear to be somewhat squashed, though.  There are a couple of 18" models that do appear to have full-width number pad keys, though.

I personally don't like & fancy Lenovo. Back in the days they made pretty crappy hardware. I don't know if this is still the case.

I like & prefer Asus and MSI more. Hence the ASUS ROG Strix G16 G614FR-S5013W. And also other notebooks I have (see sig).

You could try resetting Windows and then setting it to United States region to confirm if the numpad on the trackpad then enables, if it does you could then simply set the timezone to NL and install the Dutch language pack?

I tried. No succes. bol. (as seller) also confirmed it had no numpad.

I looked at the MSI laptops at https://us.msi.com/Laptops/Products#?tag_multi_select=9702,120361,9703,9706,25347,79011,58914,86355,60589.  Some of the 16" models have number pads, but not all.  It looks like all the 17" and 18" models do have one, though.

I saw one that was comparable in price (MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XWHG-201NL), but has 1 TB of storage (vs 2 TB on the Asus), and I think the Asus Nebula screen is better.

Two others are more leaning towards 2800-3000 EUR which I think is too pricey for me for a gaming notebook & my usage.

Don't worry dude, when that machine dies in two years you can buy a new one that has a dedicated numpad.

Use the USB numpad as well and you can have one for both hands! 🙌

I hope this notebook doesn't die in two years.  It's too expensive for that. Or is it "Ah well, there's guarantee for that" ?
