polo69
Im building a new machine and wonder what would be best as in fastest ................... SCSI Vs RAID
Apple-a-Day
both are fast, but scsi is more costly and dependable. Raid in stripeed 0 array is most cost effecient, and the speeds of the new hdds will run against the latest scsi. Its a matter of how your funds can hold out. By far scsi has the advantage of having onboard controllers that take a huge load off the cpu though and a scsi raid well just is sweet but hey money dont grow on trees. Maximumpc mag just did a real life test on raid , they calim that a single fst hdd is beter for gaiming as writes in raid are fast but reads acctully slowed down as compared to the single. For more info on raid try www.proimise.com and http://www.itcp.net/~awsh/Speed_Demonz/IDE...AID/RAID_01.htm
