Flish,

Where on APXP March Full release is the option that I can set it like Windows 2000 Search, instead of Windows XP?  I went to it manually and disable the Animation when it searches, but I know in previous builds there was an option in APXP, but I cant seem to find it on the March release.

I had to redue my dads computer, and I just noticed that.

Thanks

Is this what you're looking for?

Registry Tweaks for your System

---- Appearance Tweaks

---- ---- Enable 'Old Style Search' like on Windows 2000 (7th one down)

EZRecovery:

Have you tried reinstalling APXP March Full and checking the options fully  ?

@Naveen - Yes I have, like 4 times now, and I still cant seem to find it. I dont want to go back to February release in order to get that done.

Thanks for your help.

@bloke - Hmm, sounds like the one I'm looking for, letme connect at home right now and start APXP :D

Thanks

I installed the full February release of AutoPatcherXP and apparently it has changed a setting in Internet Explorer that I can't seem to find to change back. It has something to do with cookies I am thinking because...for instance with Yahoo Mail...I know the cookies it issues expires after a given period of time and you have to log back in...well I log back in and it keeps making me do it over and over and over...finally log all the way out of Yahoo Mail and have to log in all the way over again before it lets me into my mail. Would of you good people happen to know what setting that is so I can fix it and stop the madness?

I had that problem too accessing my Yahoo account. If I remember correctly I had to go the privacy icon at the bottom of IE and remove yahoo and geocties from the filtered list. Hope that helps, and it is fixed in the next release.

Hey guys, APXP March Full Release has been posted to alt.binaries.warez.ibm-pc.0-day. :D

@bloke - I ran APXP again when I got home, and the tweak to change the search like Windows 2000 was selected, meaning that I was installed previously.

Odd, because it doesnt look like Windows 2000, it still looks like Windows XP without the animation.

No biggie.

Thanks for your help.

Just a thought regarding how autopatcher can now decide between full/lite/ultralite, how about adding an optional tablet pc / media centre edition, with just the updates that are applicable to each specialised version, including the powertoys that are just for these versions, this would be very handy now that more of these os versions are permeating the market.

also could we please have a status update for the april APXP

and how is AP2000 and AP2K3 coming along, will they be ready in the near future?

I wasn't sure where to put this so I figured this thread would be as good as any.

Firstly, a huge thankyou and well done to FlishFun and Raptor for the awesome AP.

Secondly, some feature requests.

Have you considered bundling a codec pack with the Bonus Features? I would Recommend the Kazaalite Mega Codec Pack 1.01.

This eliminates the need to install realplayer and quicktime.

I would love to see things like Thunderbird and Firefox, MirandaIM, etc but I think that would be out of the scope of AP. A Codec Pack however strikes me as something necessary for nearly every windows install (at least on home machines). What about adobe acrobat reader? Let me know what you think.

Digital_Pimp

Some of those were talked about in the beginning. The main reason for leaving them out? Size. But we make it so you can make your own custom additions to the AutoPatcher, so you can add them and have them install silently yourself.

hey flish, the may updates are now out, and the april APXP is still only in RC1, whats the chance of adding the very few updates from this month and just skipping the april update and renaming it the may update, it would be a great help as my work is near its bandwidth cap already and it not even half way through the month

(Y) i think this would be a great idea, even if it delayed the release by a couple extra days.

    • Steam Next Fest returns with thousands of new demos to try out by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Valve has been routinely kicking off demo festivals on Steam for years now, and the second drop of 2026 has just opened its doors. It's a great opportunity for any PC gamers to find some interesting games before they release. The June edition of Steam Next Fest is a week-long digital festival including gameplay slices from a large number of indie developers, though a few major publishers are involved this time too. Interested players can use the Next Fest hub page's various sorting and filtering options to easily sort through the hordes of demos available. The top buttons offer quick access to separate and important sorting options, including "By Genre, By Theme, By Feature," with each one offering more granular settings when clicked. At the same time, the built-in Steam tags system is also available below every page to discover new games more quickly. As always, logging in will also enable Steam gamers to utilize Valve's recommendation algorithms to find game demos they might like, specifically, depending on their past play and purchase histories. This time there is even a toggle now to swap between getting a random and personalized selection as Valve collects more data on the available demos. The Charts section is where you can find the most popular demos on the platform right now, offering up the most hyped titles in a simple list. Right at the kickoff, Mistfall Hunter, Empulse, Echoes of Aincrad, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Over the Hill, Mortal Shell II, and more are trending. Expect this list to change as the week progresses. This edition of the Steam Next Fest is slated to end on June 22 at 10 AM PT. Valve's latest event is now open, and it can be accessed by going to the dedicated hub page here.
    • I lived and breathed MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger. Going to the mess.be website (still online with no changes since 2013) to download display pictures etc. I was a beta tester for Messenger Plus! and spent quite a lot of time on the MsgPlus! forums (a read-only copy is still online at https://shoutbox.menthix.net) Some old Neowin articles also https://www.neowin.net/news/messenger-plus-350/ good times but how time flies The main developer of Messenger Plus!, Cyril aka.
