0 Vault Posted February 17, 2002 Share Posted February 17, 2002 Yeah it's a nasty little bug this time round. Basically uses a security flaw in IE to put Javascript on your PC. Script then opens up MSN Messenger and sends a post to all your online contacts with a link to a site, which, you guessed it - places the javascript on to their PC and so on and so on!!! How to get rid of it: 1. Exist Messenger, dont just close, EXIT! 2. Go to Microsoft.com and download the latest IE security update. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downlo...059/default.asp 3. This only effects IE 5.01, 5.50 and 6.0. If you are on 5.01 or 5.50 you will need to install Service Pack 1 or 2 to be able to download the security update. The update will stop the worm from sending files. 4. Your mates, if they still have the virus, will keep sending you the link so DON"T CLICK ON IT! Hope this helps!!
