hi everyone

I have a question pertaining to Knoppix

where do I find the latest release 3.4?

and after the d/l I can`t for the life of me figure out how to burn an iso

tried using a program called nti cd maker but no success

are there any free iso burners out there to help me do this

AFIK, the latest Knoppix releases are found at knopper.net (or one of their listed mirrors)

And burning them requires a program that understands an .iso file is an image (so it doesn't burn one big file called "xxxxxxx.iso" to your CD). I don't know of any for Windows, sorry, but I am sure that there are plenty.

http://knoppix.net/get.php has a list of mirrors

i prefer to get it from BitTorrent http://torrent.unix-ag.uni-kl.de:6969/

either place you get it from, make sure you get the latest date that ends in -EN (being english) and you want the .iso file

you can burn it using nero, get the demo from http://nero.com and after you install it, run nero burning rom, choose the recorder menu, and burn image. then just pick the file you downloaded, wait a few minutes. and viola!

[edit] welcome to neowin! [/edit]

Extract the Files with WinISO. Extract program just like *.RAR or *.ZIP only it is for *.ISO

When you done that just burn teh files on a cd :p

Greets

Knoppix is a bootable CD. So if u just extraccted and burned the files u get, it won't work.

MandrakeMove is also a live CD. But it isn's as good as Knoppix.
