hey thanx tool hippy. i'm just wondering... what program is that in the 1st screenshot? I did a file>saveas in IE and Firefox and neither gave a space like that. Maybe i'm just not sure what is going on. The second bug well... i probably just introduced that... it probably worked b4.I'll prolly spend a whole lotta time today trying 2 fix that while keeping the previous bug fixed... thanx again

Now it's gone, I can't recreate it for some reason. Perhaps it was just a fluke. I'll let you know if it comes up again. ;)

actually that has happened to me before while using it, for me i believe it was in winrar but it only happned once for me too. strange.

oh, and btw... i updated the site: check out http://www.myjavaserver.com/~mike001/plastik/index.html for the new design.

I don't think contra has announced it yet, but he released a new version which is FREAKING AWESOME. Many more new color schemes to choose from. And impulse, the start button was changed, so hopefully u b happy now ;).

Also, I think contra has dropped the shellstyles because he thinks that the "the windows classic shell looks great with this theme". I'm not going to dissagree, b/c i think it looks fine, but i think the shellstyles he made look far better. I'm not sure how many people have seen these shellstyles, but post here if you want to see the shellstyles continued. I'm going to keep making them for myself, I just wanted to know how many other people like them, so I know if I should have theme downloadable for use with contra's plastikxp theme.

Hey I think this is a GREAT theme and will be better once all the bugs have been worked out.

I think that is would not be as good if it had the windows classic shell were used, infact i really hate the look of windows classic... But keep up the good work the theme getting better all the time. Oh and I like the start button but i I think it needs to be more of a button like if you added a rollover or something so it looks like it gets pressed and stuff. :D

Hi.

Great remake of KDE's Plastik theme, however... Lets not forget that we are still using Windows, and so I'd like to voice my opinion and say that even though the start button has finally been changed, ;), changing it to KDE's logo is not the right way.

I'll leave it to the author to come-up with something more fitting... :)

Thanks again for a great theme!

For those who haven't been keeping track of this theme in the "Finished Visual Styles" forum:

Ok, I think contra has discontinued work on this theme, so I have pretty much taken over the bulk of fixing/tweaking it. I have been working on a number of fixes and changes, one of the most obvious being a NEW START BUTTON, but some other bugs as well. I'll probably post some sort of wrap-up on all the changes and progress tomorrow, and hopefully some screenshots.

Continuation from other topic:

Toadeater (assuming you find your way here), You could be right about the button being blurry. I might try to mess with it a little bit, and probably post a screen or two for people to sound off on.

I guess the original WIP topic was still around.

I have yet another suggestion, for the fonts. Try the attached font (Lucida Sans), it looks very similar to Verdana but doesn't seem to mess up any dialogs.

    • FWIW, I've been using Helium on Linux and Windows since the first time it was mentioned here. Actually, maybe a day or 3 before, as I searched for it when I saw it mentioned on the MX Linux forums. Haven't had a single issue on either OS. Not bad for a beta.
    • See up until a few years ago y'all could get away with simply denying your war crimes, pretending it never happened. Unfortunately for you, it's the 2020s and Israel's genocide has been livestreamed in real time. You have to be dumber than a rock to think anyone still believes your propaganda. See the cat is already out of the bag. The world already knows who you are so do yourself a favor and just drop the facade. Bet it gets real tiring keep track of all the lies. Take some inspiration from Israeli ministers who boast on live TV they like massacring civilians. Every zionist accusation is after all a confession.
    • He's just reporting what Microsoft posted. https://msmessagecenter.com/MC1381119 It just means that Windows Defender updates will no longer be bundled into the monthly Cumulative Windows security update and will now be a separate download. They'll still be on Microsoft update of course but now they can be released faster.
    • Apple announces iOS 27 with no changes to the list of supported iPhones by Taras Buria At WWDC 2026 in Cupertino, Apple announced iOS 27, the next mobile operating system for compatible iPhones. The update focuses on tweaking and improving last year's iOS 26, particularly in areas like app launch time, Liquid Glass design, and more. Additionally, Apple has reworked Apple Maps with a significantly enhanced Flyover view for a much more realistic view. Apple also promises better performance, smarter search, new Health features, new parental controls, and more. The most important part is that iOS 27 is compatible with all iPhones that can run iOS 26. That means that even the seven-year-old iPhone 11 can run iOS 27 (supposedly better than iOS 26). iOS 27 will be available this Fall, with the first developer betas expected later today. You can follow the live stream here.
