+primortal Subscriber² Posted February 21, 2002 Subscriber² Share Posted February 21, 2002 3 beeps on post? Could be memory problems. System spec would be nice.
AgEnTsMiTh
One Long beep followed by three short beeps, sounds like 3 beeps only its so fast, is a sign that your video card has bad memory.
nanackle
This depends on your motherboard and the manufacturer of your computer. What kind do you have?
radixvir
there could be nothing wrong with it....has it always done that? ive heard some computers beep three times. it has to do with the startup sequence and how the bios is designed

Keldyn
Sure sounds like a video card prob to me. As suggested, pop open your case and ensure it is seated correctly. This happens occassionally on one of my machines.

Chris123NT
First of all processors never beep or at least i've never heard one beep :p. 3 beebs from the system speaker usually means something is wrong with the video card. If it was the ram Mobo would not beep at all. SO give the vid card a little push and tell it not to jumop out of the slot again LOL :p

Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 23, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 23, 2002 Actually, when I an Athlon burns up, it emits a quiet, high whine first. Sorta like if you've ever heard a transistor overheat. :D :D :D
EmuZombie Veteran Posted February 23, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 23, 2002 lol... that remains me back when i took electronics in high school i "borrowed" a couple transistors...
