Burning Audio.

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, I was just wondering what speed everybody uses to burn audio CD's, I recently bought a 24x burner and have been burning all of my audio CD's at 8x, and was wondering how necassary it is to do this.

The reason one might not want to burn audio CDs at the highest possible speed of the drive was already expressed earlier in this thread. The debate is over whether higher burn speeds lead to more errors, pops, cracks, hisses, etc on the written CD.

I have a Plextor 12/10/32S and I always write at 12x though and haven't noticed any issues.

the speed makes a difference. If i burn at 24X then disc wont play in the DVD player or some of my other stereos. I burn at 16X and that's the max for it not to cause trouble!!
