commando677
I do 24x why would you not use the top speed?
Grizzly
The reason one might not want to burn audio CDs at the highest possible speed of the drive was already expressed earlier in this thread. The debate is over whether higher burn speeds lead to more errors, pops, cracks, hisses, etc on the written CD. I have a Plextor 12/10/32S and I always write at 12x though and haven't noticed any issues. Grizzly:lick:
neowin_hipster
I have a 20x speed burner and the audio has come out clearer than my 8x iomega!!!!

Roger H. Veteran Posted February 23, 2002 Veteran Share Posted February 23, 2002 the speed makes a difference. If i burn at 24X then disc wont play in the DVD player or some of my other stereos. I burn at 16X and that's the max for it not to cause trouble!!
Xcalibur
hmm.. thats strange..... anyway.. my burner only goes to 16x so its ok for me.. lol
commando677
if you have problems burnning at higher speeds then you have a crap burner, buy a real burner and you won't have to worry.
