ATI Boosts RADEON X800 Specifications

Recommended Posts

How come your all goin "wooo ATI" dont forget that the NV40 has 210million transistor AND the same number of piplines, do the maths fanboys.

160m vs 210m = hmm.

On the contrary, this sounds like a fanboy's response. And the fact that you have a Geforce FX proves my point.

The number of transitors each card has doesn't really make that much of a difference, it will come down to whoever has the better design with more efficiency. I might add ATI uses a low-k process which should lower power consumption/heat a considerable amount. Considering nvidia has more transitors and doesn't use this process is worrysome. Remember the NV30 had more transitors then the R300 as well, and look where it got it.

Anova, im not a fan boy, ive made numerous posts about buying an ATI card if they are better in this next up and coming generation. anyway thats besides the point.

Efficency upon power means that core clock and memory speeds will have to be sacrificed as the voltage to them will be lower, thats a BaD thing.

And below your sig tells me your an ATI fanboy and the fact that YOU have an ATI card proves my point :) Touche mate hehe

lol, just leave it be, the efficenty power thing does not mean lower clock speed :p, it just means its more efficent, plus if you want you can volt mod it if you want to extreme overclock it, either way, i'm rooting for ati this time as nvidia is never getting my movie because of last time (lieing, cheating, no supplie)

If your not a fanboy why do you have a GFFX?

This is completely incorrect.

And that automatically makes me a fanboy for ATI? Just because I don't appreciate nvidia's business practices doesn't mean I will never buy another product from them.

Business is buisness lol, i reckon every business has done at least one bad deed in order to gain the upper hand, in my opinion the best card gets my cash, simple as.....

and im not making presumptions about who i think will win, the fact is we DONT know.

Anova just because i have a card made by a certain company that doesnt make me a fanboy, Rofl! it just doesnt make any sense.

Woo 400 posts! lol

I must protest, it makes perfect sense. It means you either did not do the research before buying, or did and decided to ignore it because it had the nvidia logo on it. The simple fact is a Radeon 9800 will outperform a 5900 in every catagory. So what are your reasons for going with the 5900?

Can't wait to see what kind of performance increase this'll get over the current cards...I may stick with my AIW 9700 Pro :p The fanboy inside me does hope this is better than nVidia's solution though

I just have to say that in all of the ATI vs NVIDIA threads that I have seen here, your's has been the most decent reply. You have given me faith in the internet having decent people on it again

@ANova: **** off and let the man decide how he's spending his money. It's not a) Your decision or b) your business.

Anova, my reason for getting the 5900 was becuase i only paid 90 pounds for it, 90POUNDS!!! can you put that into perspective!!!! and no it doesnt get beaten on every test by the 9800. Besides if your trying to pit the 9800XT against a standard 5900 it would be unfair. Try a 5950Ultra and come back to me :)

    • LibreWolf 151.0.3-1 by Razvan Serea LibreWolf is an independent “fork” of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community run successor to LibreFox. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. Independent Build — LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser. No phoning home — Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default. User settings updates Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions. Multi-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac/and soon Android) Community-Driven Dark theme (classic and advanced) LibreWolf privacy features: Delete cookies and website data on close. Include only privacy respecting search engines like DuckDuckGo and Searx. Include uBlockOrigin with custom default filter lists, and Tracking Protection in strict mode, to block trackers and ads. Strip tracking elements from URLs, both natively and through uBO. Enable dFPI, also known as Total Cookie Protection. Enable RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. Trim cross-origin referrers, so that they don't include the full URI. Disable link prefetching and speculative connections. Disable disk cache and clear temporary files on close. • Gf needed a new Surface and was looking at a Surface Laptop because of the Snapdragon. Seeing as it was a two year old chip she just decided to get a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1 instead. Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
