phantomAI
If I'm currently using the corporate version of Windows XP as an eval. version that I got from a friend. But when the real XP is out, I'm buying it. However, I know people who will still be using these pirated copies. Is it possible for MS to see who's using pirated copies possibly by the use of Windows Update?
Tesseract
Probably not. When you use Windows Update (at least in Windows 98/Me), it says that it does not send any information to Microsoft. This may be different with Windows XP, but probably not. Even if any information is sent to Microsoft, they could not tell if you are using a pirated copy of Windows XP Corporate edition because many people will be using the same edtition in an office where the use of this would be warrented.
