inz0
I've never tried setting up a linux box just to be an email/web server and i am sure someone here knows of some good guides to follow. Apache is a definate for the web server, which i think will be the easier part to setup, but i have no clue about setting up email with pop3 access. my friend will have a static ip with a domain if that matters. I'm thinking of using Slackware just b/c i know they use tested and true packages. If it is easier on a seperate distro, then tell which to try. Thanks in advance! holgr
Well for a start give http://www.tldp.org/ a try, and see the Howto section. POP3 isn't that hard to configure, create a user and install/start the supplied POP3 server... Try to use POP3S (POP3 transmits passwords in cleartext). I personally use Fedora, but it's up to you. :) Edit: Think this could be moved to Linux/Unix Customization & Support > Open Source OS Discussion?
