Go to Target and spend $60-$70 on a new DVD player. They carry a number of models that can play DivX right out of the box. There were a couple for like $60 that were pretty nice, really thin. What is this Kiss player? Never heard of that company. Sony, Panasonic, Philips, JVC, Apex... all of the major DVD manufacturers have models that play DivX now.

wtf? I think i remember seeing 1 from Panasonic, but i have never seen anything at target or their website. Can you supply some links?

ok.. well I have just been to target and found a big fat 0 to all the dvd players that can play divx.

Hows about a link to actually confirm that you are not tripping, please?  :D

Well, since Target is a department store, it probably depends on your location, but I was just there yesterday and saw a silver Panasonic DVD player that plays DivX. It was really thin and sleek, but I don't remember the model number or anything. Maybe it's on their site, I'll check and see if it is. I also saw at least 3 other players that played DivX as well, from other companies. If it is not, that does not mean I'm lying, for God's sake. Why the hell would I make this up? It's silly to assume that.

This is the one I have, and I couldn't be happier with it. Not only can it play anything I throw at it (Divx4/5, Xvid2/3/4, 3ivx, ffmpeg, etc. etc.) but the build quality is top-notch as well. The tray slides smoothly and quietly, and it feels rock solid. Also the sound quality on CDs is pretty impressive, it outperforms my ?150 Kenwood Cd player easily, and delivers really crisp sound to my AV amp. Oh, and it has all the audio outputs you'll ever need - digital optical out, digital coax out, standard phono out, and Dolby 5.1 surround direct analogue out. The best piece of electronic equipment I have ever bought(Y))
