goheels681
I have a Cable Modem with a Linksys Router that has it's own firewall. I also have Norton Internet Security/AV, and the instructions for NIS say to turn off the firewall in XP by choosing the connection that you are using, right clicking it, selecting Properties, and selecting the Advanced Tab. Well, there;s no advanced tab (see picture). Is there anyway to get it back? I have a Dell laptop with XP Pro and a Gateway with 98 currently using the internet through this computer/router. I remember when I had the System Restore tab missing from My Computer, the guy on tech support had me find a file called sr.ini, and right click it and click install. Is there a similar process to fix this problem?
Billprozac
If the firewall is turned on, you will notice a pd lock icon ontop of the network connection icon in the Network Connections folder.
