Heres how I do it:

1. I rename the new shell32.dll to some other name(remember the name)

2. I put the file into the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder

3. Go to Task Manager and end task of explorer.exe

4. Make sure GUI is gone

5. Run task from Task Manager, type cmd to call command promt

6. Navigate to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32(type cd C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\)

7. Rename the old shell32.dll to something else and rename the new shell32.dll to the filename shell32.dll

8. Run task from Task Manager, type explorer to call GUI

Certain risk is invovled so be careful, these steps worked for me.

You could always use the Replacer but that app doesn't work for me.

Good luck.

I'm sorry, but do you all even know what you are talking about?

1. The icons are pixelated because there are more than 42x42 out there. Unfortunatally, 58x58 has not been released yet. Stop griping about it.

2. The folder icons should be looking ugly in your XP boxes, BEACUASE they are meant for longhorn. They are seperate layered fodlers that allow the contents inside of them to be shown. See attached file!

Therefore there is NO WAY your XP can display them properly because the avalon and aero are not activated to provide true transparency support.
