@Liquid: There is another step: After making the partition and shutdown darwin, you have to activate the partition... So you mus reboot Darwin again and type where you hit 'shell' last time 1 and on the next step 0

After creating the partition you can shutdown and install OS X. This should be work.

I am using the Disk Utility as most of the sucessful installs are using the Disk Utility

First I tried it whitout darwin, but I could not install, because the formatted partition (with the partition manager of the installation) was not bootable... So give a message, if you got it installed AND rebooted without darwin.

EDIT: Yes, you need it for the language files. And if you install apps you need it too.

That's really funny. When you start ppc, there is a short moment where you see the bootable partitions... The IMG would only be bootable, if its listed there. I got it to install too wthout darwin, but it was not shown in the boot-menu... so it would not work... but I hope for you, it will work... ;)

Now you have to wait a while.

A better question is did he mention Neowin, as I'm almost positive he stumbled upon PearPC on Neowin..... He's not exactly the best in giving credit where credit is due....

He just mentioned Neowin (this thread) on his blog and said he came across PearPC from some guy (can't remember the name).

I?m also waiting for the next version!!! Anyone who knows anything about the progress? Release date ?

AND, do you know if it is really necessary to use Darwin to format the image or if the tool included in the OSX installer is OK. I have seen people starting the installer without formatting in Darwin but do not know if anyone has succeeded to install.

This is the coolest thing that has happened to my PC since I installed Linux the first time ?

    • I can answer about the Linux bit. I only used AMD GPUs. I currently have a 9060XT (8GB) that fits my needs, I'm not a gamer, so I don't need that much GDDR. But lately, NVIDIA has grown a lot in the recent years. Oh, the horrors of NVIDIA drivers not working. But they have been getting better. I know a lot of members onm here that are running cachyOS and other distros, and are fine with a 4090/5090 variants. Really, though, I would stick with AMD variants.
    • Everything they say you can already do yourself on the registry by changing some things.
