Thats your problem there. You can't use the network with 10.3.4. It hasn't been solved yet. if you can get back to 10.3.3 then your network will work fine.

Networking works with 10.3.4

Start with the networking commented out in your config, boot OSX, delete all network cards, shutdown PPC, put networking back into your config, reboot OSX & reinstall cards.

when u say take out the net cards in the config do u mean putting a #in front and a 0 at the end

or

completely taking out the pci rtl.... part

Adding # to the beginning and making it equal 0

Taking it out completely is the same thing...at least is should be.

Note to a moderator:

This topic is over 130 pages: this is a huge problem. I've read 99% of it all, but most peopel who discovered PearPC today and find this thread will NOT read all of it. There is so much to talk about with PearPC that it almost deserves its own forum.

I don't have any real good suggestions on how to remedy this. Maybe a quick fix is to close this topic, start a new one, and keep closing / starting new topics? That doesn't seem to work well for a long time period. Maybe a subforum would be good?

Anyone else wanna comment on this?

Yep that would be a good idea...

Its impossible to read all this thread.

Here's 2 links to get networking working in PearPC:

Here's a link for PearPC Nightly Builds:

Here's a guide how to install OSX in PearPC:

Here's a good site for info about PearPC:

Hope it'll help some people...

I've been on this thread since day one too... I read neowin every day, browse the forums, but I don't post as often as I should :-X.

I haven't seen the current PearPC GUI for Windows (someone made one I believe)... but I'm working on one. If all goes well, I should have shots tomorrow! My plan: make it look sweet, work well, and be bug free (oh wait, thats every programmers plan :-X).

Edit: I forgot to ask.. can someone attach (or upload and link) a properly unjournaled formatted 15gb hard drive image (zipped really small :D). I started out with a 3gb image, and well, I'm full. Is there a precedure to extend an image file? What about me adding a second image hard drive and copying/resizing partition? It would be a bummer to reinstall again.. lol

You can make image files in OS X and restore them on other hard drives. You would have to backup your current 3gb one to windows over a network and then restore it later.

    • Funny, but I didn't had the issue. All PC's at work are Dell and we had the culprit version of Support Assist for about 2 weeks until we got the new one. No problem at all. And for checking you can also use Dell Command Update, no need to search in windows settings. Just check the Upgrade History.
    • YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    • Apple are scared of their customers! They have built a brand over the years of "it just works out of the box", but that slows innovation. Samsung's master stroke was the Galaxy Ultra: "Let's cram everything into one handset, make it so stupid only real nerds will love it, some of the features will work, some won't, but the audience will have such a high tolerance they won't care". Apple has no such device and so they are constantly worrying these days about the fallout of creating a new experience that customers might not like. I know it is often cited the reason they don't build a touchscreen Mac Book is they don't want to cannibalise the the iPad market, but I think it's equally cold feet after the criticism Microsoft receive trying to make a touch compatible desktop OS

    • So, an article that has nothing to do with Windows 11, still gets Windows 11 in the title and a build number as the picture? Dell have a buggy build of Support Assist HP have UEFI settings that need unlocking for the secureboot cert upgrade to take place.
