Question

i need a mac user to tell how to COMPLETELY Remove all know traces of that network card in os x. Like i said even if i remove it in the config or use the 3com one nothing changes in net preferences

Maybe this is a post for the Mac forums?

Guys, if your question is about PearPC ask it here. If its about Mac OS X, ask it in the Mac forums ;-).

man u guys r luck i felt so lucky last night to get both sharing and networking working now it wont

willvg : wow 100% of your posts are in this thread...

Why dont you try to reinstall everything...

Tap drivers, download the lastest build of PearPC, make a new config file and reinstall OSX.

Like you said before you already got networking working... it could be your windows configuration?

For those of us who haven't been reading the 130-odd pages of posts, can someone give a summary of what has been happening on this thread: namely, what are general success rates for installing OS X on an x86 using PearPC, and what is the user experience like (I've read a few posts, and apparently, because it is being emulated, the OS is at least 10 times slower than on a real Mac)? I would be greatful for someone giving a short summary, since I haven't had time to follow this thread in its entirety.

i followed this guide exactly and it worked great: http://s87840517.onlinehome.us/pearpc.html

If someone could tell me how to make it run faster i'd appreciate it.

I used Mac OS X 10.2 btw

Try my guide :) I need people to try it . It runs almost as fast as it will right now though.

My Guide :D

Where can I get a bigger disk image than 6GiB?

well im only using about 52% or of of my cpu so

Reboot, and turn off hyperthreading. You'll see a significant performance increase (nearly double) because PearPC can now use 100% of your CPU instead of just 50%. The reason it only uses 50% is becuase PearPC is not hyperthreading-aware, and thus thinks your computer has multiple processors. It can only use one of these virtual "processors" at a time, though, and so you can't get 100% CPU usage without disabling hyperthreading.

haha I have 27 posts in this thread.....and this one is 28..... :D

also Liquid in you guide I would advice you to rewrite it without using the darwin .iso because there is no need to download it.

I was not aware you didn't need darwin. I tried without darwin and could not boot.

I did it without Darwin and it worked fine! :) Try borrowing your friend's copy of OSX 10.3 sometime, or go searcfh for the "exploding star" as I mentioned earlier.

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
