[PHP] Zip Files Mime Type

Question

matt95110    16

I'm not sure if this should go in Software support, because it isn't really PHP thats the problem. Part of a project that I'm working on invloves an uploader, and I'm having a problem uploading ZIP files. The problem only seems to occur in Firefox. The mime type that I'm using for ZIP files is:

application/x-zip-compressed

Does anyone know what mime type I can use that will work in all browsers. Every page that I googled just acknowledged the problem.

You could try just going by extension.

I suppose that would be the easiest, but isn't that more insecure?

Firefox seems to send application/zip so can you just use OR?

The hell with it. I'll just specify the extensions, I'll come back to this later.
