Am I the only one that finds Thong Sandals uncomfortable? The piece of plastic or whatever stuck between your toes really aggrevates me. Trying to walk in them is also a pain, and sometimes hurts. It seems I'm the only one that has trouble in these. I have a pair of the normal birkenstock sandals with the the straps over your feet, and those are really nice. I went out and bought a nice leather thong sandal today, and I just can't get a hang of walking in these. The back is always straddling along and it can't seem to stay on my feet.

Does one get used to them after awhile?

What do you guys think?

Flip-flops rule. The noise doesn't bother me. They're great for:

Washing the car

Partying on the beach

Mowing the yard (with BOOGSoftball's old lawnmower ;) )

Getting things from your car at 11:00PM

Shoveling the driveway of snow (tried this once...never again)

Working in the yard

Etcetera.

Flip flops are different.

I really hate the walmart, plastic flipflops. The only flipflops I like are the nice leather ones like Birkenstock. Thong sandals have the strap that goes between your toes, and is shaped like your favorite piece of underwear.

I hate thong sandals. I used to put my dad's on when I was younger to run outside for a few minutes and the strap would drive me crazy.

For the wordology (:)), I've always called both thong sandals and cheap ones with velcro straps flip-flops, and the more sturdy buckle ones (like the ones in the picture labeled flipflops) sandals. Most of Rhode Island seems to do the same with me.

I have always called then flipflops too. But I visited askmen acouple days ago, and noted their usage, and figured that I must be wrong. Seems like the majority agree it's flipflops. Heh. Oh well.. I still like to know your opinions on them.

But then again, i might adopt the usage of "Thong Sandals," since it's just so much sexier.

lol ya they're called flip flops, AHAHAHHHAHAH thong sandles :)

Actually, it is only the younger generation (according to my mother) who calls these shoes "flip flops." My mom always calls them "thongs," and I gave her some weird looks before she explained to me that that is what she learned to calle these types of sandals. I guess the name was changed when that other piece of clothing bearing the name "thong" became... ahem... popular. Anyway, both names are correct, but I generally call them flip flops so as not to get strange looks.
