Hi

I just installed a Intel Pro 1000 giabyte desktop adaper.

And I was wondering what the following options should be. Right now there set at default Can someone help

Here are the options

Coalesce Buffers: Set to 128

Fast Transmit Completion: Set to off

Flow Control: It's set to enabled

Jumbo Frames: Set to Disabled

Locally Administered Address: It's blank and It will stay blank

Offload Receive TCP Cheksum: Set to On

Offload TCP Segmentation: Set to on

Offload Transmit Checksum: Set to on

Offload Transmit TCP Checksum: Set to On

QoS Packet Tagging: Set to off

Receive Descriptors: Set to 256

Transmit Descriptors: Set to 256

The card is connected to my DSL Modem With the default settings my dsl speed has improved a bit. If i change the above settings in anyway do you think it would improve my connection even more.

Fast Transmit Completion

that sounds like something fast;)

do the good old RTFM and/or STFI:roll:...

i doubt any of those settings will make any difference on your under 2mbit dsl connection

actually my dsl prior to the new card was 20 to 25 times faster 56k according to dslreports.com after its 45 to 50 times faster. not bad.

Anyway I am thinking of seeing if i can pimp intel into sending me 3 more. so that every comp on my network can have one
