How bout the cursors, login/logout screens, download/delete/move modified animations, icons (namely shell32.dll...).

Diferent color themes would be a very nice addition too (black/grey theme especially)

... just a few sugestions eh eh :)

*huge applause* thank you Xeon ?s um grande artista : ;))

OK, sounds like a good start :p

I think this is what Im going to do (and bear with me here):

? Keep the VX3.3 version and use it as the main VX VS.

? Have VX3 and VX4 be exactly the same from now on, except VX3 will be a vector-type thing (with sharp corners and simple, minimalistic stuff) and VX4 will be a more rounded, raster style with plenty of png images etc.

? Once I synchronise the two styles (ie: change back all the buttons in VX4) I will call the current colour scheme something like "melancholy" or something less stupid.

? Next, I'll try and give the theme a bit more life by using more vibrant colours (not over the top, but a bit less drab).

? After that, I guess they will be re-released, and I'll probably make a new thread like "[VS] Luna VX - under new management" just so I can keep it all in the one spot - maybe.

? At this point I'll sit back, have something to eat and check out what people think.

? To push the theme in new directions, I'll wait to see what people think of the VS at that moment, and change it accoringly.

? Once im in the mood, I will begin on two new colour schemes: Green and Silver. Yeah, GREEN. I finally found a green scheme that works, so watch out for it!

? FInally I should reach a point where the two styles to VX are varied a bit, and both will be good VS's in their own rights.

? THEN, after ALL THAT, I'll start doing addons, like trillian skins and whatnot. I may point out that I am inexperienced at skinning many programs, so If someone wants to go ahead and start one, do so now and spare me the:pearning :p

In the beginning (Luna VX version 1), I saw something special and I just wanted to make it the best thing out there. I think that Xeon developed one of the best VS's out there, and I just want to see everyone enjoy it. Thats why im here, to try and make it your favorite VS.

So im gonna go and start doing that soon. Hopefully I can get something together before my Trials start :p school :p

Use bold font for the window title bars plz. The unbolded font looks too flimsy. This has been the main reason why I wouldn't use the original or this version of vx. (It's the font in the active window and msg box section when you go to change themes). I know I have asked for this before but I really do think it will make a difference if the size of the font and everything is done right. Thnks for considering my little suggestion. :)

OK, Here's what ive done last night:

Ive knocked up a silver version of VX. (yay! :))

Unfortunately for all of you, no screenie until later when I get back home (:()

I havent re-done the blue scheme just yet, but that's next I guess.

Some of the other less major things I have done thus far are:

Changed the default font to Tahoma, 8

Changed ALL FONT Caption Fonts to Trebuchet MS, 9, BOLD (yay!)

Changes the CaptionMax bar (it's now like the FrameCaption gradient type thing)

Changed the global colours (ie: buttonFace, HighLight, Shadow, etc) a bit so the buttons look a bit better

And a few other things even I forgot what I did...

I havent fixed up the start, logoff and shutdown buttons yet, but that's next on my list.

Also, note that I have dumped the VX 4 EE for now. I will change it later, because it seems that the only changes between VX3 and 4 are the ones people dont like. (When I re-do it it'll be all smooth and such... yay!)

So hopefully later tonight I'll get a screenie up. Until then.

I agree with the title alignment. should be to the left. and heres a trillian skin for the old VX. i put it together with the help of the vx vs, and another trillian skin, cant remember what it is now.

LunaVX Trillian Skin

Good to see this one in development again. I will offer Dazza the same advice I gave Xeon and to be frank it is the sole reason I never used the original VX. Could you please develop a new start button? I think it looks tacky considering that it's the same as shutdown. But hey who am I. If the masses love it then leave it be.

Dazza, it looks great. Just a suggestion, could you do something with the taskbar? Maybe replicate the gradient on the titlebars instead of just one color. It just doesn't look like it goes with the rest of the theme in my opinion. I would like to see a flag start button too, or some other design. (Y)

Yes!

This is what I like - people telling me what to do! (lol)

Seriously, If everyone tells me the things they want to see changed, this theme will end up being awesome by the end!

So far I have begun thinking of a replacement start button (maybe using the little window glyph from the start menu...?) as well as changing some other glyphs (ie: arrows and whatnot) to better suit the style.

As soon as I change things around, I'll post a screenie again and if you like it, I'll post the VS (once im satisfied that Ive worked out any bugs that might exist).

Then I can get to work on re-doing the existing VX 4 EE. Like I said, expect something... curvy...

I love your new silver version Dazza, it's the most soothing, unobtrusive silver theme I've ever seen.

My suggestion for the start button is to make it look just like the one from the beta of Luna VX 4.0. Infact, I would *love* to see this old version released the way it is if you have your hands on it.

I had a little image to show you all what I had done last night with the taskbars and the buttons, but I forgot to put it on my CD before I went to school (d'oh!) :pinch:

Anyway, until I get that image up, Im just wondering what people thought of that other thing in the beta preview of VX4 - the user panel at the top of the start menu. Do you guys like this kind f thing or do you prefer the plain one?

    • Thanks for liking it! 😊 That's Arch Linux with Gnome.
    • LOL. Can't even quote and edit a comment correctly. Figures you're a Linux user.
    • It won't perform hugely better than the 3080 unless you're VRAM limited in games. Have you tried putting new thermal pads on them 3080 and giving it a good clean to see if you can regain your temps and overclock?
