restart your computer in ms dos mode, go to x\windows\system32 change browserlc.dll to browserlc.bak then copy your browerlc.dll to x:\windows\system32 and restart.......or you can jus turn off windows file protection :)

How the hell are you gonna start your computer in MS-DOS mode when you have XP installed? First of all XP doesn't have a DOS mode and if you use a floppy you probably have the problem that you can't read an NTFS disk.

Ok....but how do I get explorer to look like in the screens Stefanka posted earlier? I enabled the style with Style XP, but there are only some object that change....

Your not exactly Very Explanitory, But i'll help as best i can.

First a couple of tips.

Ditch StyleXP, it's a pos. Go download the Neowin UXTheme patch.

A shellstyle supplied with the VS is a skin for the Common tasks, the bar to the left in an explorer window.

1 - When you download the zip, extract to temporary folder.

2 - there should be a folder inside called LonghornInspiriat (that has msstyle and a folder called Shell Inside),

3 - Chuck that folder in C:\Windows\Resources\Themes

4 - right click on desktop properties and select the longhorn theme. Walla done.

As for the extras, well, look up lol

also, if anyone is having problems using the theme, and is using a patched uxtheme. if you put the longhorninspiriat folder into the themes folder, it will appear in your "appearances" tab of your display properties as "PantherS". i had trouble wondering why it didn't appear as "longhorninspiriat" but it's still the theme. i think all of stefanka's themes are known as "PantherS" in your display properties.

also, anyone know where to put the modded browselc.dll? i can't find the dllcache folder, is it hidden>? please point to exact location thanks, i've checked windows root folder, and system32 folder. no luck

c:\windows\system32\dllcache\

the folder is hidden on purpose for you not to find,, so if a system file gets corrupt it pulls a backup copy from this directory.

Everything is sweet i just don't like the bold text in the start menu...

Great job.... it has a read aerodynamic look to it. I haven't seen anything like this before this is great~!!!!!!!

i have an easier way...

copy the dll to the c:

then hit ctrl-alt-del

kill explorer.exe

then hit the run menu in that window

and run "cmd"

once you got the prompt....

goto c:

then do a dir

then type

c:bry.....dll c:\windows\system32\

Y to overight

c:bry.....dll c:\windows\system32\dllcache

Y to overright

then run explorer

and your done.
