Which programs do you use, and why?

Im just wondering what programs people use for common stuff like browsing, listening to music, chatting etc...I made a list for you to fill out (you can add stuff if you like)

I'll start;

Browser: Opera 7.5 (best functions)

Music Player: Winamp 5.03 (more features than itunes, less resource usage)

Chat: Msn 6.2 w/ msgplus 3 (nice interface, has a lot of features which miranda lacks)

Irc client: Opera 7.5 (I dont use irc much)

Movie player: Media player classic (not bloated, takes little resources, plain and simple)

FTP: SmartFTP (haven't bothered to check out any alternatives)

p2p: kazaalite (ability to disable uploading, easy to use)

Browser: IE(faster than anything else for me)

Music Player: Winamp(INTERNET TV,that says it all)

Chat: MSN 6.2(a habit)

IRC: mIRC(fast transfers,easy to use,for me at least)

Movie Player: Video Lan(AWESOME QUALITY)

FTP: FlashFXP(bloody fast)

P2P: Kazaa and Shareaza(i just like em)

browser: opera (ridiculously customizable and, no matter what i hear, it has always loaded pages faster than firefox, for me... always)

music player: winamp5 (small, efficient, but powerful)

chat: trillian (easier on the resources than aim, but better functionality than miranda... the need to make an OSCAR aim.dll!!!!)

irc client: mirc (simple and it works - that's all i need)

movie player: media player classic (with the quicktime alternative package and the k-lite codec pack, it plays everything perfectly)

ftp: filezilla (free and powerful, plus it's easy to configure to different types of ftp's - ssl/ssh, etc)

p2p: emule plus (all the joys of the ed2k network, none of the b.s. like banner ads)

more stuff:

cd burning: nero (easy to use and can burn almost anything) - alcohol 120% for anything nero can't handle

download manager: reget deluxe (simple, but surprisingly effective)

email client: thunderbird (i may not dig firefox, but thunderbird is a great email app - all the features of outlook, none of the gaping security holes)

firewall: outpost 2.x (infinitely easier to setup and use than even zonealarm)

Music Player: Winamp 2.91 ( still my favorite )

Chat: MSN 6.2 With Plus! 3.0

IRC: mIRC 6.14 with NoName Script ( very good script for Gamers )

Movie Player: Media Player Classic

FTP: FlashFXP 2.1

Cd Burning: Nero 6.3

Email Client: MS Outlook 2003

browser: Internet explorer (sorry but every page is compatible with this)

music player: wmp9 (easy, good features)

chat: Yahoo messenger (the new version has many new features and much better than msn messenger)

irc client: mirc (its basic and i dont really use it much)

movie player: Power DVD (I am supriced at how good it is, it used to be pretty rubbish)

ftp: filezilla (as the guy above - free and powerful, plus it's easy to configure to different types of ftp's - ssl/ssh, etc)

p2p: Ares (prefer emule but had some problems with it security wise meaning i had to re install whole OS)

Other:

cd burning: nero (its so good, if you can find a better alternative tell me)

firewall: NIS (Its effective as far as I know, easy to use, keeps out my way most the time and you gotta love tracking the origin of attacks)

Browser: look at sig, cause it ownz joo(tabs, popups, free)

Music Player: Winamp cause its skinnable and has good sound

Chat: trillian pro, cause it ownzzors.

p2p: shareaza, cause ti has bittorent, edonkey and gnutella. also, much less fake files.

Music player: iTunes. works with my iPod, great interface. better organisation than winamp
