Firefox 0.9 Expected Release Date Announced

Recommended Posts

They have never once claimed that any release dates were set in stone. For every milestone, they make it very clear that it will be out when it is ready and not sooner.

Exactly! Before they gave a month in which they thought the new build would be completed and they missed that mark most of the time. Now they are claiming days on which it may be done when they couldn't even estimate which month it would be done. This is the reason I don't believe their projected release dates. So what is your point?

I'm just wondering why it seems like you're complaining. It's not like you can't download a nightly.

according to this, windows is getting a variant of the pinstripe theme as the new default theme. i love qute and all but i can't wait to see it. i don't think it'll look exactly like that mac os x version though. @_@

Not sure what I think of this :/

Firefox 0.9 is gonna rock! Check out all these goodies! :D :woot:

*Edit: Bangbang, that bug that I mentioned went away by itself... Just wanted to say, your Aviary builds are awesome. Really appreciate them.

That would be kick ass--even better if it split the download into parts like standalone download managers do. :woot:

I think it already does that. I was downloading FlashGet 1.60 yesterday and it was slow as hell (5kb/s) so I clicked on some mirrors and the speed bumped up to 340kb/s, but the download did not restart. So I guess it can already download from multiple sources.

Maybe it just switched mirrors? I'm not sure exactly of the inner workings of the M, but I'm almost sure it only and can only use one source. I can't be 100% sure on that though.

Maybe.... could be, but it didn't restart the download, it was already halfway.

I found it surprising, but it could indeed just switch mirror, though normally it should restart the download then, but like I said, it didn't :s

it's just too good for us the understand haha

Where is everyone getting their builds from? Ive tried the latest-9.0 tree and for some reason it doesnt want to accept any of the themes that I load. It says they are installing, then doesnt display them.

check this thread. The themes are broken and need to be updated:

    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
    • Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.
    • That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.
