Headphone jacks only carry audio not 1's and 0's and it don't have an infrared sender on it either (a universal solution if apple could be bothered to get all the remote codes from every stereo with a line-in) Just wouldn't happen. But what we think is them creating a remote to interact with the computer running a stream to the Airport Express which in turn would give the impression of controlling your stereo, just wont do anything like play CD's or do any of the other functions of your stereo but receive music via its line-in..
