Wow, 1.5 years. I can't go a week without changing my foobar config. Viva la revolucion!

Here ya go... Now including track info goodness.

The font is actually Corbel 8pt bold. As for the color schemes, I'm not artistically inclined enough to come up with them on my own, so I steal them from album covers. :D Hope you enjoy.

ok i have a quick question..

foobar doesnt use id3v2 and id3v1 tags? metadata? what the deal?

Foobar, by default, uses APEv2 and ID3v2 tags. You can set it to use ID3v2 instead here:

thanks a lot brumal!

hey there!

First of all i'm completely new to foobar :/

After reading a couple of sides in this topic i decided to change my foobar's appearance.

The point is: I aint got the time to lern it by try&error. Consequently my request is if someone would share his -whole- foobar config (maybe like the whole folder or smt)?

I'd appreciate for this soooooo much

@fotuwe: it's pretty easy to put a lil make-up on foobar.. you just need to have the passion for it ;)

1) first of all... you got to have foobar.. the latest is v0.8.3. heres a link

2) then, you might want to take a look at this UI plug-in, columns_ui.. because that's what all of us use to customize the playlist. here's another link

3) after getting all that done, you can just apply an columns_ui skin that you like. you can start off with brumal's configuration. it's really good for starters :)

..and... here's my latest foobar... courtesy of brumal ;)

mylatestfoobar1ol.png

mine's exactly the same as brumal's. just in a different color scheme. which you can easily change. here's a picture. just replace the highlighted number (number 1 in the pic) with any of the numbers, 1 to 17. those are the color schemes brumal has made ready.

Update to my fooby config:

- Added columns to show missing tags, file type & play count

- Added audioscrobbler submission indicator

- Made track time display configurable (1:23, -3:37, 1:23/5:00, -3:37/5:00)

- Streamlined track info

- Added audioscrobbler submission indicator to track info

- Added color schemes to track info to match columns config

- Added 4 new color schemes

Thanks to those that have given me feedback on this little labor of fooby love. I hope some of you find it usable (and not too ugly)

Is there eny way to add in playback order to play only rated songs?

No, but you can dance around it by setting up a playlist for only rated songs. Using the Playlist Generator component, you can use the following string to generate only-rated playlists:

rating IS *

If you're using the 0.9 betas, you could go one up and use the Autoplaylist component. Which is similar to Playlist Generator, but it automatically updates the playlist based on the query. So, whenever you rate a song it'll get added to the autoplaylist.

I swear, I am developing an addiction to tweaking foobar. It's just too damn configurable us OCD types.

The theme is Frutiger Klassik. It's just a tweaked windows classic style. Should be able to find it in the Completed Visual Styles topic.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad someone is enjoying this thing. :)

Your config is awesome Brumal, I was using Azrael with my own config but yours is very nice :)

<elvis> Thank ya, thank ya very much </elvis>

I appreciate the feedback. I should be releasing another update later this week with some new features and different color schemes. I realize some of the schemes included now are arse-ugly, but I was tired of seeing the standard ITunes look in every foobar screenshot, so I tried to do something different. I will be including a custom color scheme maker in the next release.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
