Hogwashy
Ive got 2 network cards in my computer, my sister needs internet too on her computer, shes got a network card in there On the network card that is connected to my cable modem, i right clicked it, properties, advanced, and click "Allow other computer to connect thru this internet connection", and clicked "allow other users to control or disable..." Then, with my other network card, i attached a network cord going from my pc to my sisters. Thats all i did but when my sister turns on the computer, it says "Media Disconnected" on her NIC status.. argh, what am i doing wrong? all the wires im using to connect my_computer to mode, and my_computer to sisters, are the basic network cords i can connect to the internet thru both cards (like if i put the modem cord in the nics, they connect, showing that both cards are functional) both wires are functional too.. lnmnky
Sounds like you need to use a cross over cable. the modem to NIC cable will be a straight one. The cross over cable has a visible buckle half way down the cable. (mine does anyway)
