EpicFail
just curious... how long would be reasonable to wait for a response from someone who you pmed about an invite? CaPeRKiNG77
That was a good post dude. Bizkit: If that was referring to me, thanks. It just irks the hell out of me when these type of things happen on forums, need XXXX posts rather than been a member for XXXX days/months/years, etc. Like I said, I admire the membership length, if people were only signing up for this to get an invite (in this case), by the time the required membership period comes into effect, GMail *should* be available. Minimal number of posts requirements on any forum for anything is a load of BS to me because as I said before, I (and I'm sure lots of others as I've seen a few here already) don't post often but when I (we when it applies) do post, the post actually means something or contributes in a positive manner to the topic on hand. -=SD=-
just curious... how long would be reasonable to wait for a response from someone who you pmed about an invite? I'd give it a day or two, could be someone from another country so the time could be a reason. threetonesun
Since I don't want to go through all 18+ 40 posts-per-page pages to see if this has been mentioned (although I did see a few comments saying basically the same thing), I just thought I'd drop a little note here about the rules. The 5 month member is great, but the bit about 300 or more posts (of course this would since I haven't reached that yet) is what I personally think is a little sad. Just because someone doesn't post every day, or every week for that matter (this is probably my first post in months), that shouldn't exclude them. I've yet to reach 200 posts let alone 300, but I've been here for over two years. I visit Neowin on average 4 times per day, every day, but because I don't post a lot it excludes me from this? Not that I want in or anything, or that I would refuse an invite if given, I'm just expressing my views on how the post limit rule is unfair for those members like myself prefer to lurk rather than post. Now if it was by seniority I would have nothing to complain about, even if there were 2000 people ahead of me, as it wouldn't mean I'd have to post in topics that a) questions have been answered, b) my opinion would cause a flamewar, c) just to add another comment praising something when 200 other people have, and I could go on. Besides, it isn't all about the number of posts, but the quality of posts. Isn't it? That's just my two cents. I said something to that extent, as of now I've given away 3 accounts to people at Neowin (and have 2 more), 2 of which were people with well under 1,000 posts. My point was, I'm not going to give it to someone I've never seen here before, but I'd be more than happy to add my name to this list to help some people out. Last time I said I had some invites, I got a handfuls of PMs from people with 50 or less posts, who had signed up in the last month! So I'll rephrase, since I have two more to hand out, 1,000 posts or you've been here longer than I have. I don't want to give them to just random people, I didn't want to start my own thread, but I'd like to give them to Neowin users. A.K.R.
I want to join the queue, but why that stupid "5 month" rule? I have been here only for a month, although I have >300 posts! I can understand your point of view [yours as well FatCat] with "not seeing someone here before", so looking at it that way opens my eyes a little more on the post count requirement, but doesn't entirely change my stance. As stated, I wasn't posting to put my name in the running, and if in fact it is, please remove my name as I have received an invite from a friend ::wink::, but surely pass it on to somone else here. And threetonesun, I really do applaud your the way you intend to handle your invites by offering them to the users who not only have the high post counts, but have been here for as long as we have. I also plan to give at least one of my initial invites back to Neowin (family requested two), and will most likely do it the same way you are planning to do so. Tiftof
I have to agree with threetonesun. I don't have much posts on these forums. But I have been here for a long time. Everyday I'm here reading stuff for some hours (news and forums). That might not be a contribution (or how is that called) but it does mean loyalty to neowin.net. If I get an invite, I'll sure try too bring an invite or two back to neowin christophe_oosterlynck [at] hotmail.com Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/177181-definitive-gmail-queue/page/29/#findComment-2292295 Share on other sites

Here's the list, if you want to give invites in this thread then pm these 4 people. ChicoCahill RaGe- Kombatant Test Zero If not following the thread then make a new, we are using the list for a reason :p If you are asking for trades, etc go to ebay.
