Soul Of Destiny Posted September 21, 2001 Share Posted September 21, 2001 Hi all, just bought a Diamond SupraMax 56KB USB Modem yesterday, having Windows XP Final on my pc when using Dialup Connection, there seem to be more settings than the previous Windows i.e. 98/NT/2000, such as Security features, now, here is the BIG problem, when you try to connect to an ISP, it dials but nothing happens, is because some of the security features in XP does not work well with such ISP's e.g. in UK (BT Internet), there is a possabilty that some modems will work and some don't, so anybody with a solution it would be most apprectiated. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
configure Veteran Posted September 21, 2001 Veteran Share Posted September 21, 2001 I don't think it would be because of your security settings causing the connection not to be successful establish. Did it dial? Did you hear the dialtone? If so, then there maybe some part where you left out. There are possibility on some modem not working with some ISP, but I don't think that would be it. Please make sure You've TCP/IP install, and 'type of dialup server' is set to PPP: win95, 98, NT Internet. It may be vary, but that's what I use. Again, if you don't hear the tone, there may be something wrong with your modem, try re-install driver, query modem see what happen.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
