HeadStrong
I have a old iMac DV 400mhz that I would like to try and overclock to 500 or maybe even 600 if it's stable. How do you over clock on Mac? I'm running OS 10.2 Thanks
Pilsbury
It's possible, but, could kill your mac... http://www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~t-imai/imacde1.html
MipScript
Its not worth it. I wouldn't bother. - Not like you would get any great speed increase from it.
HeadStrong
OK thanks, I thought it would be easy like in windows were you just bump the bus speed at startup.

oik
wow, thats quite complex. i didnt know mac didnt have a programable bios, that really blows for ppl with macs why does it "blow" for us? because we can't overclock? hmm... no cmos resets no worries about "what does this do?" etc etc etc
PureEdit
wow, thats quite complex. i didnt know mac didnt have a programable bios, that really blows for ppl with macs The Mac BIOS (openfirmware) is more programable then any x86 bios, you can write programs and stuff for it. You cant overclock from the BIOS, but there are a number of software overclocker for iBook G3s that have worked for me. For the iMac you probably need to do the hardware method though.
