@ russellc: that's exactly what I'll do then! I'll post some new links for everybody later on today...

@ flash: yeah, you would just see the logon with a white box. But if your account is password protected, your user name will appear instead of windows just loading.

@ Pierreken: the logon file is called LonghornLeaf.exe, if that's what you mean. And instructions on how to apply the logon a bit safer are available in the readme file.

@ DrEaMs In DiGiTaL: yes, the turn off computer button is an image file... but for some reason, your right: it doesn't work. Thanks for picking that up! I'll look at that now and try and fix it for you guys.

@ erp: I'm really not sure, but when SP1 was released everything was fine with logons. So I would say no.

and if anyone knows of a good site where I can post a mirror for those who do not want to download the logon from ThemeXP, please let me know ASAP. I only want sites that can track how many downloads the logon has recieved though - thanks.

Longhorn Leaf logon v1.1a

Updated: fixed "Turn Off Your Computer" button (now works ;) ), updated password box (now smaller), changed password character (now Segoe UI U+25CF)

The new version works with all resolutions 1024x768+

@ nuka_t: yes, I can make them not wrap my files. However when I let them wrap my files, they pay me and pay completely for my domain. That's the only reason why I let them.

@ memNOC: ok, once I've created a version that has welcome and log off text I'll work on a 800x600 release :)

Thanks guys :) Just went to ThemeXP, only 2300 downloads have been recorded. Not that much really :(

Anyway, for all you people who didn't want to download my Logon from ThemeXP you can now also get it at DeviantART, with no spyware. I would still rather you get it from ThemeXP, you can easily just choose not to install the additional software, copy the zip somewhere else, and then uninstall the themexp.org file.

oh well, moving on. you can get Longhorn Leaf logon v1.1a from these places:

      Not such a great deal, Ultimate, which gives you full 5080 features is $181.99 CAD per month, that's $2183.88 per year, I can buy the 5080 for $1809.99 CAD, then it goes up to $279.99 per month after the first billing cycle. Typical cloud rental, costs more than buying the hardware.

      Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.

      You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
