Hotmail ups space to 25MB.

Awesome. 25mb is heaps. Seriosuly, who needs 1GB of email space?

some of the dip****s at the company I just started with have mailboxes nearing 2 gigs. Yes, you read that right, 2 gigs.

the "fun" part is getting these dip****s to start archiving it, so I can slap on some restrictions on their mailbox sizes.

Their previous admin had no idea what he was doing, and it shows.

I just checked my account and I'm still sitting at 2mb. Based on that article here specifically,

Microsoft, meanwhile, has quietly been expanding the storage it offers to at least some users of its free Hotmail service to 25 megabytes, up from the 2 that were available before. Users of these expanded accounts can buy still more room with two new "extra storage" plans: a $40-per-year service that includes 50 MB, and a $60-per-year option that allows 100 MB.

But other users continue to get only 2 MB of storage, and an "All About Hotmail" page at the site shows the old amount as well. A new account opened on Friday afternoon also was limited to 2 MB.

not everyone will be getting 2mb. do i have to send myself some huge email to activite it? y dont they just default everyone to 25mb instead of being cheap a**es with this selective crap.

If people using the free hotmail get their account upped to 25MB what will Microsoft do about MSN subscribers like me who already have 25Mb, hopefully give us more space or it would be silly having paying customers getting as much as people with free accounts.

That's how the rumours start! The picture posted says 25mb but is not a free account, it's from a Hotmail Extra Storage Subscription. Did I prove my point? Don't believe everything you see. If free account are upgraded to 25mb, 25mb extra storage accounts should be upgraded to at least 250mb, not 50 as they say.

To you guys complaining because it dosen't offer a gig: who the **** cares? Honestly people, ever since GMail has come around, that's ALL people want is a gig of space. Are they ever gonna use it? Of course not, but they're still willing to act like pathetic losers for an invite. I have had a 10MB hotmail account for a year and a half, it came with my MSN Premium subscript, which is part of my DSL service...anyway, I've never been above 3% storage. Who the hell needs 1GB of email? You people need to stop bitching because everyone else isn't going the way of GMail, it's just stupid anyway.

well since you didnt state that it was from your paid account then it was misleading in the first place. the rumor started because of your bad info so don't blame the mill.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
