Hotmail ups space to 25MB.

Recommended Posts

If nothing else, Google at least deserves credit for starting the trend of larger email storage. The amoun of space my ISP gives me with my cable account has run out of space more than once and I've had to delete things. More space is always nice, and I'm glad Google jumpstarted this for all email providers.

Omg at first i had a big hoo haa complaining about Gmail but now i got an invite :$ lol i quite like using it, i also signed up to yahoo lol :s But yeh now with my change of heart lol i will give them some credit so Yey Gmail :p

OMG, you guys are pathetic. Gmail isn't even finished, Yahoo very recently made their accounts 100mb, and I haven't heard of any other major players say anything. Nothing's too late yet, and 25mb is a modest improvement I'd say. Of course nothing's like 1gb  Which no one will ever use...

Wrongo, I know tonnes of people who have already nearly fileld theirs up with .... porn

I find no reason to hate Gmail, I mean, it's a great service, I think that some people are jealous that they don't have one, or that everyone is getting it...but I guess that hotmail and yahoo has a bigger user base, I mean the are some people bitchin about going the hotmail or yahoo way, when I don't see a reason not to use Gmail.

,Jun 22 2004, 08:18] Great news! I knew that Microsoft / MSN would never offer the sort of space that Yahoo! offers. But 25mb is a usable mailbox.

Thankyou MSN.

  My MSN {Australia} free account shows I have 10MB available.

Still 2Mb here......

You must be one of the lucky ones...!! :D

My hotmail account is for registering various forums and other purposes, so I don't mind getting spam. I hope they can increase the size of the mailbox as soon as possible, 2M is not enough as I am receiving 100+ spam everyday. 20M+ will be an appropriate size, who will need 1G storage?

To you guys complaining because it dosen't offer a gig: who the **** cares? Honestly people, ever since GMail has come around, that's ALL people want is a gig of space. Are they ever gonna use it? Of course not, but they're still willing to act like pathetic losers for an invite. I have had a 10MB hotmail account for a year and a half, it came with my MSN Premium subscript, which is part of my DSL service...anyway, I've never been above 3% storage. Who the hell needs 1GB of email? You people need to stop bitching because everyone else isn't going the way of GMail, it's just stupid anyway.

No, you need to stfu. You would be suprised how many people need 1GB especially if they do not have time to check their email everyday (It can build up...) I easily went over my limit on hotmail multiple time so stfu. with 1GB you do not need to delete anything and some people use the whole amount.

Completely agree. I went on a holiday and when I came back I found out that 5-6 of my mails din't come through.

Yeah, I hate that. If you go on vacation or say, to a relatives house and what not, you don't always have access to your email. I switched to Yahoo since they started offer 100MB and because 2MB was too small for me.

1 Gig of space, yes if you give it time and do not delte your messages will fill up eventually but its not to say that everyone will need it. The service is there for people who do need it so whats the problem ??

I like the fact that not everyone is offering 1 Gig of space. Its like the iPod of e-mails in one respect. You have different sized hdds in your iPods and are able to use the one which suites your needs, as what they are doing with e-mail services.

I don't see the logic in people signing up for a Gmail account when they barely get mail. ??

Hotmail ( soon to offer 25mb) --> For users who occasionally get mail

Yahoo (100mb) --> For those who are above average in e-mail usage

Gmail (1 Gig) --> Hardcore e-mail/storage/large transfer fanatics. Already i can see there are a lot out there..

Use the service to suite your needs, not by how much space it provides...

>>I hope this made some sense<<

as many people

i once signed in hotmail, cuz i wanted to use msn, and then, i gave away this e-mail address to everyone, now i know that messenger supports other e-mail clients, but it's too much trouble to change my main e-mail account now

so, let's hope they do increase the size in hotmail

2 mbs is really little cuz once i had to delete all of my e-mails :p

and the worst, when i go to vacations or somewhere without internet access, the inbox simply EXPLODES haha

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
