Hotmail ups space to 25MB.

Well the real problem with MSN Hotmail is not so much the current 2 mb of storage...IMO it's more a problem of reliability...even though one should not store important data on free server , i can't remember how many posts i read about peole losing data on MSN...should it be emails, notes, Messenger contacts....I myself lost a bunch of pretty useful notes in the calendar (got a premium account)...Also subscribers sill have tons of ads everywhere, and when I hear people saying "bah who cares I dont even notice them..." I just find them pathetic. Also Hotmail is a freaking slow site.

I also have a yahoo Plus account with my 2 gigs now and thereis absolutly nothing bad to say about it, I got tons of features with the Yahoo Mail Plus services...I just wish I had used this account for my Messenger and that the interface could be a little more pretty...Well actually the only thing i like about Hotmail is their new interface...but it's way to slow...

I would rather get a serious Hotmail with 10 MB that anything else...

If you check it with Outlook Express 6, it is mega fast. No need to logon to any web page at all.

sounds like a Microsoft argument...no sir, Hotmail HAS to be faster , final point, and in order to check them thru Outlook Express you gotta get the extra storage option

Damn here is an extract from bizreport.com

"Users of these expanded accounts can buy still more room with two new "extra storage" plans: a $40-per-year service that includes 50 MB, and a $60-per-year option that allows 100 MB."

Did they understand anything or what ???????????

OMG, you guys are pathetic. Gmail isn't even finished, Yahoo very recently made their accounts 100mb, and I haven't heard of any other major players say anything. Nothing's too late yet, and 25mb is a modest improvement I'd say. Of course nothing's like 1gb  Which no one will ever use...

It is sort of late.

You can get a gmail invite within minutes at Gmail Swap, like I did. Spymac, Aventuremail, You've Got Post, etc are all out...

I hate Hotmail. Too much spam. I am very happy with gmail!

This is not correct. I have the 2 meg free account and Outlook Express 6 checks it no problem at all.

Tools > Accounts > Add > Mail >

Type in your name (Next), type in your hotmail address ([email protected]) and click Next and you will see the hotmail server option. Just click Next, type in the password, Next again, then Finish and when prompted to add folders, say yes.

That's all you need to put your Free Hotmail account to OE 6.

mmmm Well I wonder why they put that then:

Your storage upgrade will include the following features:

Exemption from the 30-day Hotmail inactivity policy

Virus scanning & cleaning of e-mail attachments

Access to your Hotmail account via Outlook? Express

Hotmail Extra Storage page

I don't know if Outlook Express access will last very long then ...or maybe it was supposed to disppear but they changed their mind...Anyway if Hotmail storage is to be boosted then there will be no reason for them to allow user to use a client to make up for the storage...so we'll see how things turn out

It's been in there since OE 5. Still there. You may want to check it yourself.

Well hopefully, but actually I would be happy with only 100 MB if they just made their webmail stronger and better for Premium subscribers , that is, faster, more reliable, no ads, and function that can be find in the competitor like yahoo Mail plus (staionnaries, archiving tools, personalization of the from line....

If they don't bother enhancing their hotmail then they better give us AT LEAST 2gigs to compete with Yahoo or it's gonna be a great campaign against Hotmail

Yup ok but see this website

http://join.msn.com/?pgmarket=en-us&page=h...gmarket%3den-us

is quite new, it only is few months old , I think it was done in February right after we ended the MSN Premium beta ... that's why I find it surprising

Well, I know that with the ability to check Hotmail in OE 6, I never see ads, never mess with the web page and it is lightning fast. Not bad for a free setup.

OK but the purpose of a webmail is to be mobile...I use MSN Mail client at home and login to Hotmail at work everyday and on Holiday...there , let me tell you I get quite upset when I see those ads and besides they slow down the site itself...as for Hotmail being fast thru Outlook (express)....it sure ain't as fast as any pop3 account

Do you have a Hotmail account?

As for mobile, with wireless hotspots all over the place, you take your laptop with OE 6 and it's pretty darn mobile. At least as fast as my Pop3 account. I don't understand the basis for your statements. They don't match my experiences, and I would guess, the experiences of others who use Hotmail.

Are you telling me that you you gotta have a laptop in order to be mobile if you use a client? silly

Are you telling me there hotspots everywhere in this world?

Are you telling me that you dson' t see any ads in your Hotmail account ? silly

Are you really sure that HTTP protocol is as fast as the POP3 protocol? silly

let me tell you I participate in Public newsgroups to help people dealing with MSN/Hotmail issues and they do not confirm your saying sir

I don't understand the basis for your statement

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
    • Looks like no official TBW rating, which should be a required listing in my opinion for sites like Amazon (hell, put it on the box too.)
