For anyone that voted option one it is 'trials' not 'trails'.

Trials biking is jumping on/off/over big walls and stuff and is 'trick' biking, whereas 'trails' riding is more like mountain biking or CC (Cross Country) - riding along rugged paths etc.

I *as stated in the first post* do trials - the jumping off big walls one ;)

im actually in the market for a mountain bike for biking to work as well as trails. i have my eye on a gary fischer and a specialized. i need to decide soon because the weather is about to break. :)

broken collarbones are very common cycling injuries.havent broken mine yet.

I used to do DH and dual slalom, until I saw my mate's forks snap and give him a faceplant resulting in two broken bones in his neck and a cut right across his neck ending 2mm away from his jugular vein!

on a school week i travel 30miles mon-fri :cool:

Don't really bike often at all. But its good to watch, and I went mountain biking in canada in the summer (fernie BC if anyone wants to know), nice big downhill bikes (i think), armour and everything. Lots of fun.

I noticed yours has mechanical disc breaks, I'm stuck between getting hydraulic or mechanical ones on my new bike. How do you like the mechanical ones?? :unsure:

Hydros are more responsive and are need less maintanace, with mechanical there still prone to cable issues that normal brakes suffer like stretching and the constant need to lube them all the time. Though mechanical ones are usualy cheeper.

Ive got Hayes hydros on my GT and there great just need to look over the disks every few months and change the pads every so often. Just need new rims. Mine have been re-built like 20 times there far to week now.

I race XC, train on the road, and do a little DH and BMX on the side.

Race bike: Specialized M4, Marzocchi Marathon forks, Hope XC Hubs, Formula B4 disk, Eggbeater pedals.....pimp stuff...you get the ide....etc. It weighs about ?22lbs.

Road Bike: Giant OCR 4T. Stock apart from sturdier wheels.

FreeRide: Specialized Bighit Comp. Currently in the possesion of my sister who is racing on it.

I guess I'll probly go for the hydrolic breaks, which ones would be better if I need to maintain them out in the middle of nowhere? I do lots of off-trail riding in the mountains, and don't wanna end up with no breaks. :p

Just bought a new Specialized Rockhopper yesterday, and got them to throw on some Hayes Hydrolic Disc Breaks instead of the Mechanical ones that would normally come with it. And damn do they work well!

Too bad I gotta work tonight, I've been out riding all day.... Alwell! :sleep: :happy:
