Fred Durst talks back to Avril

Recommended Posts

I was just saying that not everyone only quotes Fred Durst. Some of us like Limp Bizkit, and I don't care if I am the only one on this site that does. Big deal to me.

So what if I am a fan boy? I am thinking that there is no band that you like, or movie, or anything that you like alot?

What is the point of music? To relax? To entertain? To make money? Its different for everyone. Look at [sD]. He is very into music. I am not. I listen to music for different reasons.

Either way, maybe you have nothing good to say, so I am done with you.

When will people start listening to music for the music, not for what the artist wears or does or says?

Apparently he's not paying attention to your sig, Bizkit. :/ Don't be surpised, I'm not. ;) (Y)

And once again my fellow Neowinians, we have another fine example of why you should [smokie from Friday]never, ever ever ever ever[/smokie from Friday] enter a thread if you are perfectly aware that it's content or contribuintg members in it bother you. :turned:

Please don't feed the trolls. :hmmm: They're on a diet. :s Spam gives them gas. :ermm:

Thanks for that. It cheered me up.

I just don't see what the big deal is. Its ****ing music. Listen to it for whatever reasons you need. Why bitch? I don't like the new SlipKnot CD, but I don't go around flaming anyone that does.

OK, PERSONALLY I liked Limp Bizkit's earlier albums, and then came RMV. Not so keen - still listen but not as muchy. With regards to Fred Durst - I like HIS music (which basically sums up Limp Bizkit), and I think he is a good frontman. However, he really holds himself in a much higher regard than he should.

Cheers m8. I'm not one to pick fights or start flames (and no, I'm not doing that here), just trying to prove a point that is apparently a failed one around Neowin most of the time. Simply don't view threads you know you're not going to enjoy and if you think you might get in a fight with someone. If you accidentally enter it, just click the back button. No harm, no foul.

I can handle almost everything except country but I don't go around bad mouthing it.

It is true that their albums have went down in quality. I like Results May Vary because its alot of slower songs, and I listen to it when I want to relax.

I have a few of their singles, "Let It Go" and "Armpit". I think that Armpit will be more like that the new album is gonna be like, but its not that great of a song. I like Let It Go, but, again, its when I want slower music.

When I want harder music, I will throw on KoRn or Mudvayne or something like that.

I don't think you even understood my initial post. I never insulted your taste in music, I could care less if you listen to Limp Bizkit, nor do I care what music you are in to. Infact, I never even insulted your taste in freaking music. The point of music was never even brought up in any of my posts, so I don't know why you brang that up. My "entertainment" quote was directed at how you care what some dope has to say about Avril Lavigne and how people find that entertaining enough to start a thread about it. I called you a fanboy because obviously you got defensive because you like Fred Durst and dismissed me as having nothing good to say. Ryan, don't get involved. I'm not sure you know what you are talking about, then again, I didn't read your post because obviously you misunderstood me.

I'm not sure I wanna see your reply ;/

Sorry m8, I all ready am simply because you're attacking my friend. And I think I do clearly understand. I understand that you don't understand stopping while you're ahead and not knowing when to get off your high horse because you can't seem to understand not participating in threads that do nothing but bother you. Don't you understand that you apparently don't like this thread or us or the mentioned music? I'll spend no more time toying with petty creatures here. Now I'm going to dissappear. Understand?

I'm not sure I wanna see your reply ;/

We're only trying to understand each other? Where's the love?  Group hug everyone!

Obviously you have nothing good to say, understand?;);)

Why are we quoting people when they have nothing good to say?

Then let me understand it correctly. It sounds like you are implying that Fred Durst has nothing to say. I am assuming by that you are not liking him. True, that does not mean that you do not like his music. But my original post still stands.

Why post in a thread if you have nothing to say?

To me, your post had nothing to do with the fact that Fred said something in regards to that Avril said about him.

Now, I do admit that this is a free board, and you can post whatever you like about whatever topic you want, but that doesn't mean that its cool to do it. Its like this: I could just open up every thread everyday and post something that has almost nothing to do with the topic and see how that goes over with everyone.

One last thing. Calling people names is just asking to get flamed. Maybe some of us are young and immature, not saying you are, but never did I once call you a name. Also, what did Ryan do? Said what needed to be said in this forum. There are alot of trolls and flamers here.

Obviously you have nothing good to say. ;)

Well I don't about you and Bizkit. I'm not on anyone's side. I'm an equal oppurtunity member. I hardly ever enter Media Room. And it's late and I'm tired and bored. I'll let you two have at it. no hard feelings from me. I see same **** but new days. But my point's valid. I don't understand ( ;) ) why people can't seem to stay out of what they'd clearly see as nothing but trouble. :p

I'm not just talking about Fred Durst, I'm talking about any celebrity. I already explained what I meant by saying that, anyways. I was trying to get you to think in my initial post. Calling you a fanboy isn't exactly that horrible of a name to call someone, either.

Edited by El_Hotsausage

Well, from the twelve words in the original post, that sure did say alot.

Maybe not everyone can interprite what you wanted to say. That is understandable, being its the Internet, and not a face to face thing.

And it doesn't matter if you call someone a meanie, or a ****head. Some people don't like being called names. Maybe something happened and a Limp Bizkit saved me from doing something I didn't want to do. Maybe I just liked the album art. Somethings just mean alot to people, and insulting them is not the way to get liked in the world.

By the way, back to your original post, I find it funny that you have a quote of a celeb in your sig. How ironic.

Look, Durst is in the public eye. People like to put their views across - whether they are at work, in the school common room, on the radio, wherever. People value their own views.

Because he is in the public eye, he has the opportunity to put his view across to more people than most.

He has every right to say what he thinks, just as you have every right to say what you think. However, just as at wo9rk, common room, wherever - nobody is forced to listen.

A lot of people like the band's music and reinterpret that into thinking they like Durst, like what he has to say. That's their call, not yours, not mine, not Dursts. I do not see how his comments even have anything to do with his music.

Nicely put.

I like reading your posts. You have something constructive to say. Its just the fact that his post really has no meaning when he has quotes of celebs in his thread, then says that he doesn't think we should quote them.

Wow. Hit a soft spot did I? Weird that now you know how it feels.

Why post in the thread when you have nothing to say?

I don't post crap in Tool threads, now do I?

You're an idiot. You keep spewing **** and you are gonna upset me and then I'm gonna get mean, and it'll be much worse than fanboy. You did hit a soft spot, you're just an idiot and that hits me in a soft spot. My quote "Why are we quoting people when they have nothing good to say?"

Don't even compare my feelings to yours, and Fred Durst to Maynard. Fool. Maynard has **** to say, that's why I quote him.

OK, as someone who has never listened to tool, never heard anything Maynard has said - I cannot comment. But if I read a comment in a rock/metal magazine and I agreed, then hey. If I disagreed, then hey! Tell you what though, maybe a little more exposure to his band may make me want to listen to some Tool and see if I liked it.

Thats another reason these guys get quoted so much - publicity. I am certainly not calling someone I have never heard of a "publicity hound", from what I understand, Tool are quite a "real" bunch of musicians, but publicity sells records, good or bad! It's a VERY simplistic way of looking at it, but it does tend to hold true (even for Michael Jackson).

I am un idiot cause I said something about Tool? Wow. Thats horrible. I didn't even say anything bad about him. What if I was talking about Kirt?

And what makes you think that your feelings are better than mine? Did I even say anything about I feel more about this than you? I did not. Did I compare Durst to Maynard? I did not. Maybe you didn't understand my post.

    • Report: iPhone Air isn't dead, and a second-generation model is planned for 2027 by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Since the launch of the iPhone Air, we’ve heard conflicting rumors and speculation about the fate of Apple's ultra-thin iPhone. As it turns out, Apple is not going to ditch the Air model from its lineup, and a second generation is already planned for next year. As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, citing people familiar with the matter, the second-generation iPhone Air is planned for spring 2027 and is poised to receive notable upgrades. The upgraded model, codenamed V62, will reportedly feature an additional rear camera for ultrawide photography. The new camera system is said to be in advanced testing within Apple. Gurman also says the second-generation iPhone Air could offer better battery life, either through a larger battery or software improvements. The overall design of the device is expected to remain unchanged. A single rear camera and below-average battery life were among the biggest drawbacks of the first-generation iPhone Air despite its $999 price tag. Hopefully, the next iPhone Air will fare better. Gurman also added that the device will be powered by the A20 Pro processor. The release of the second-generation iPhone Air in spring 2027 aligns with previous reports that Apple is shaking up the iPhone release cycle. Accordingly, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company’s first foldable iPhone are expected to launch in September 2026, followed by the iPhone 18 and the new iPhone Air roughly six months later. The 20th-anniversary iPhone is also reportedly planned for fall 2027. Meanwhile, if you’re planning to buy the refreshed iPhone Air, Apple might surprise you with a new price tag. As we reported today, CEO Tim Cook confirmed that price increases are on the way due to rising memory chip costs and a severe shortage. With that in mind, analysts estimate that the base iPhone 18 Pro could cost as much as $1,399 this year. The current $999 iPhone Air may not be immune to those price hikes.
