San Diego
I just got a new computer for my office here at work and I'm trying to download and use AIM but it's telling me I need to get Admin. rights to do so. Our office uses Novell so I know nothing about the system really since I am very new here and to this network software. Can someone tell me how to get around this and possibly login with admin rights?
mdavis2173
my school was like this, and it was impossible to get admin rights. If you can't figure out how to get admin rights there, you can always install AIM on another computer, at home or something, and just zip/rar the aim folder in C:\Program Files, and unzip/unrar on your computer at work. The only drawback from this is it won't save your username and password after you log off the machine, but that should be a big deal.
John Veteran Posted June 29, 2004 Veteran Share Posted June 29, 2004 You don't. You ask the admin/IT staff to install AIM for you  Security is there for a reason...
