I'm just passing through and saw a thread named with "禪" (i.e. Zen).

I dont know what does it mean even I'm a Chinese, LOL.

About the chars for the buttons, I prefer........

Minimize = 小 , Maximize = 大 and Start = 始 (same as Opio, since they looks correct for me :p )

And for the others.........

Close = "關" (this just means "close" in a single character, "kill" sounds like we for a program to quit when it does not respond)

or "終" is OK but it may looks like Japanese (Chinese seldom use "終" for programs, :p )

And the one we all ppls may have forgotten........Restore!

I may want this to be "復", Chinese usually use "回復" as "restore", but in this case we want a singlw character, right? But "回" means "Back" in single char, so I choose "復".

Some of U guys may notice the characters I typed have so many strokes and may difficult to see (or to make titlebar buttons) , since they are "Traditional Chinese" (which I use in my location). U guys may want "Simplified Chinese" characters for the buttons for the ease of making, plus some "China feelings" for the guys read and write Trad. Chinese like me.

Hope this helps and plz forgive my bad English.

Ah, I almost forget that I have some more to say......about the fonts.

In person I like the font "Arial Unicode MS" best, I even used the font to mod every VS I use ,it is because.........

1. It looks trendy all the time

2. It's ARIAL !!! It looks NICE in ANY languages and NO MORE SERIF in non-English chars !!! (Chinese, Korean, Japanese, *insert you language here*, etc.......)

Thanks again!

I don't know any chinese or japanese. But I find a font with

that type of characters which I choose some totaly randomly

for my style.

So if you chinese people feel like it you can recreate the buttons

with correct characters and post it here. I attach a file you can use

so I know where to put them and for you to see the size of the buttons

if you deside to help me.

The attach file is a bitmap (.bmp) but I renamed it so it can be uploaded.

Very nice...

2 things...

1st thing: Is it possible to make windows flash a little (not in white, because it's impossible to see) - e.g. MSN conversations particularly... I've left a few people waiting for an answer when my sound isn't turned up because I didn't notice they replied.

2nd thing: When I change the font size, from 7 to 9 in certain parts, the chinese characters are replaced by normal _ + x instead... this is not really good, because on a 1280x1024 desktop, size 7 is too small to see. Size 9 is alright though. Could you check to make sure the Chinese characters remain the same no matter what the font size is (especially size 9?)

I'm absolutely besotted by this theme. Really diggin' it! Good job.

i have an annoyance with this VS.. i had the same with HmmXP... in some cases. when there are supposed to be checkboxes.. they arn't very visible..

i've attached a screenshot of an options page in DC++.. as you see the checked box is visible when selected.. but it appears as though none of the other options are selected.. when in fact Filter kick and NMDC debug messages and Show timestamp in chat by default are checked as well.. but that's only visible when you select the item like with Full row select in lists..

this does not only happen in DC.. in msconfig and flashget and many other software as well..

as i said before.. it's almost the same in HmmXP only if you look really close you can see that there is a check in the checkbox.. it's a bit annoying i must say.

other than that.. i love both HmmXP and Zen

Cheers

    • Fire and rehire. Doubt the work contracts are as favourable. Smart tactic using AI to do it legally.
    • > And, of course, it includes in-game purchases. Sigh.. of course it does. I just don't understand why anyone would want to play this on PC, when the far superior AoE 2/DE exists. Just kill this with fire already. Or a trebuchet.
    • Normally you'd just want to use Ventoy, but Rufus is handy when: - Ventoy doesn't work (some BIOSes can be weird) - You're mainly interested in creating a single Windows live USB and not interested in a multi-boot / Linux USBs - You want to automate your Windows installations (Rufus supports creating/injecting an autounattend.xml file which fully automates a Windows install). You can do this with Ventoy as well, but it requires a bit more of an effort. Also worth nothing is that both automatically bypass Windows 11's artificially imposed restrictions (TPM, CPU etc).
