Console or PC

PC only, used to have consoles but after the dreamcast (my first use of the net on that machine) i decided that they were

1) costing to much to upgrade and old games wouldnt run on new systems at the time

2) limited use for any thing other than gameing

so a PC replaced the dreamcast, not even considered a console since and all the games i bought when i got my first pc can still be played on the pc i have now. perpetual tinkering adds to the fun. But i think i spend more each year changing hardware now than i ever did on a console :wacko:

Totally a PC Gamer - Just far superior game choice and graphical quality.

Xbox - (N) - Mainly because Xbox2 will not be backward compatible and I don't think much of the graphics Xbox does.

PS2 - (N) - one word OLD - :sleep:

So graphics are everything nowadays? Nothing about gameplay? Value? Fun factor?

I would buy the console just for the sake of these games:

Xbox - Halo 2, Fable, Jade Empire, DOA: Ultimate, Forza

PS2 - GT4

Not to mention how the Xbox is moddable which is great for all the things it can do.

But yes I agree that PC does have some advantages to consoles, but thats not everything. Multiplayer(side by side..friends...party..etc) is simply awesome with consoles which require much less work than LAN parties.

Im sorry im starting a debate here but I cant help it when people backlash at consoles because the graphics arent up to par with their ultimate gaming pc. :(

NES on MOdded XBOX Super Mario Brothers Oh Ya. Halo2 looks promising and a modded xbox is hard to beat. then again there are some games that are just made to be keyboard and mouse.

i prefer the console, mostly because if a game is sold for that platform, it will work, no matter what, on that platform. with a pc, you have to worry about low framerates, drivers, and system requirements. plus there's the overall cost to upgrade...

ps1 = $200 (when it was new)

ps2 = $200 (when it was new)

total = $400 + games

pc x years ago = $500 (for a good one)

pc today = $500 (for a good one)

total = $1000 + games

that's $600 i could put towards... a new mac :p

At the time Xbox came out, I got it and a new PC (roughly the same time). The PC was top of the line back then and I used it for games. Over the last few years, I have been getting rid of all my PC games and setting up my modded Xbox with my home theater. Although not as powerful, I now use my Xbox for all my gaming needs. It's just easier to use for games and a much nicer environment. My PC is used for "work" and multimedia only, except my laptop which I sometimes use for LAN games.

PC here...just because my computer can do things other than game. Case in point...you can't chat on an Xbox (well...an unmodded one). So yeah...I'm going for the most versatility for the buck.
