I vote PC. I need a PC anyway, might as well make it a game machine. But, to be honest.... i borrowed a GameCube from a friend once with a handful of games and I was on that thing non-stop. I think, for me anyway, I spend so much money on my PC that I don't have money for a console...so I really don't know what is better.

I am probably one of the few that don't like consoles.

I havn't had one since the sega mastersystem

Playing online multiplayer on them is just to difficult compared to PCs and they also lack the range of games and upgradablitly of PCs

The only time a console is better than A pc is for mutliplayer games for people sitting next to each other. I don't really understand why no-one has made a PC with multiple controller ports.

errr like usb controllers you mean .... ;)

Add another name to the list of those who aren't big on the consoles. The last console I had was the snes. BTW There are ways to hook up multitap PS or NES adaptors to a pc :) I used to have two PsOne remotes and a PsOne steering wheel hooked up to my printer port. Very sweet indeed. :D

Because rather than trying to squeeze around a 17"/19" monitor, you can sit quite comfortably around a 32" TV

Get a tv card and you can do the same :) Nothing like playing Call of Duty on a 50 inch tv :D

What does emulation count as? I play a bunch of Nes/Snes/N64/PsOne on my pc. I guess that means I should have voted for both :x

TV Card is for watching TV on the PC, you mean TV-Out.....

Which means having to have a pc right near the TV, which is a bit of an eyesore a big tower next to the TV, not to mention having to move it when youve finished.

Besides TV-Out, being stuck at 1024x768 in really low refresh, no thanks

Oops tv out is what I meant. Thanks for the correction Oneill :)

You can use cords or wireless transmitters so you don't have to keep the pc right next to the tv. So that's not really a big deal. But I agree with you, 1024x768 kinds sucks but its still loads of fun. S-video out doesn't look too bad when its set up right. I get 85htz on my tv, not the best but it looks good enough for me.

i do mah gaming on both mah & pc $ mah ps2 , but i have been using the ps2 quite a lot these days coz mah pc is bigtime outdated with just 384mb ram , p4 1.5 GHz & a crappy nvidia gfroce 2 g4mb gfx card .

though ultimately i would love to upgrade mah pc by the end of this summer & maybe even get mahself a brand new xbox .

Anyone that has said that PS2 > Other consoles:

No. :pinch:

I have a PC, Xbox and PS2. Currently, and for about a year, my PS2 has been gathering alot of dust. PS2 is falling behibnd the power and innovation that Xbox and PC is providing. Sorry, but for a gamer owning both Xbox and PS2, I can make a fair decision that gthe Xbox is superior. Those that put it down simply haven't played it enough.

Just my thoughts.

To answer the question, my PC is the point of interest until I get Halo 2. What basically keeps me playing in ffront of my PC for hours are teh Crafts: WarCraft and StarCraft, being a huge Craft junkie I can live with these games for years, devoid of all other entertainment. The RTS genre appeals to me so PC is essential.

Xbox has alot to offer in tyerms of FPS and new concepts.

Other than the FF series, there is little that I am looking forward to on the PS2. Sorry.

Same exact feelings here  I too own both an Xbox (two of them :p) and a PS2, and I think the Xbox is hands-down a better console. Also, FF has ben degrading lately; I don't like where it's going... But Xbox vs PS2 is not the topic of discussion in this thread... :ninja: Moving on

    • There is a lot of reasons not to use Edge but faster fixes and security updates is not one of them.
    • Can't reproduce. I installed Edge, went to neowin.net > accepted the cookie consent > used menu to go to forums, everything loads and I can browse around the forums. If you can't interact with the dialog on the forums for some reason, go to the main site and accept the cookie consent there? It is true that the site will not function properly until the cookie consent is accepted or rejected,. it's a legal requirement and I also know that certain VPN/ad blockers block it, which is a user related issue and not a neowin.net problem.   This is not our cookie consent dialog. Gotta love browser hijacking... /s Edit: this may be what Californians see, I will confirm with our consent provider.
