Evanescence new Album?

Recommended Posts

See, I've always felt that Nickleback and Effernesense, effervensese, effing whetever were on the same page. Junk.

Effervesense isn't crap? I've never understood why anyone could listen to them...

Of course, I've only heard that one song that they play obsessively on the radio, so maybe I can't judge them fairly.

Well, how in the world can you make an educated post about a band when you admit you only heard one song?

Mike

People say Nickelback sucks and **** but only listen to the singles...

I personally don't listen to rock music at all, it's just not my tpye of music. However, I ran across the Evanesance CD that my roomate owned and listened through the whole album. I thought it was great! I definitely like a lot of the songs on there. Now, they are not the best band in the entire world but they did have some good songs on there. I even like the slow songs on the album like "Hello".

Who is Lacuna Coil? I've never heard of them.... [goes to Google] :)

sorry for bring this topic back to life cause I was searching for "nickelback sucks" on Yahoo and found this. :D

Between Evanescence vs Lacuna Coil, I've listened to LC and female vocalist is pretty soft and bland. Amy Lee on the other hand sounds like she poured her soul into the singing, it's loud but not to the point of being annoying. But Cristina Scabbia is soft and sounds like vocals in the background and it's hard to pay attention to her. btw, I am juding this after listening to the whole Comalies CD that someone recommended me to listen. And I think Evanescence is not entirely nu-metal. I mean what nu-metal band does solos? even the cheesy ones that Evanescence did. At least they don't totally follow the nu-metal formula. But LC's Comalies didn't have any solos. What's with that? Funny thing is, I rarely see people saying LC is nu-metal but lots of ppl say Evanescence is nu-metal and at the same time, they say Evanescence copied LC. doesn't that make LC nu-metal? why no one calling them nu-metal?

Nobody will call LC nu-metal because its "underground" or something. While Scabbia is a good vocalist, I agree that her vocals are fairly limited, especially noticable in concert. LC as of lately has been getting heavy radio play out here, no doubt because of Evanescence opening the door for that style of music. Genres don't mean a damned thing to me though, music is whatever you want it to be. I like alot of LC's stuff all the same, but that male singer in the band has gotta go, he ruins some great songs, totally butchered. Boils down to what you like more, they do both offer something slightly different.

Exactly why I hate labeling music. Too many things float among different genres, including both these bands. I remember being at some concert last year, and some crazy doped up freak wanted to argue about why his band was some certain type of metal....with his fists. Ever since that, I just nod my head and agree. Call it what ya want, if it sounds similar, it sounds similar.

I was in Target yesterday and Lacuna Coil's video was playing on the TVs. These two women walked in and were obviously shocked to see that kind of music being played. The clerk apologized for some reason. These two weren't that old either, probably in their late 30s. I guess they forgot how to "rock"! :punk:

[GLOW=purple] Okay as far as some of you saying lacuna coil is underground? um..didn't they play ozzfest this year and realease two gaudy videos...one a remake of the origional heavens a lie and they other swamped. my sisters cheeerleading friend knows who lacuna coil is. they use to be underground but the trouth is people they are pretty mainstream right now. and i have seen evanescence live many times and they impressed the **** out of me. amy lee has the most beautiful voice out of any female lead singer i have ever heard. and yes that includes christina scabbia. amys voice is more precise and on key. i love lacuna coil and evanescence but vocally..evanescnece has won over lacuna coil.

Agree

,Jul 26 2004, 03:51] who dare to call LC nu-metal?  :x  they are Doom Metal

about Scabbias voice, its obvious that its a matter of opinion because I think her voice has more passion than Lee's voice

doom metal man?

isn't doom metal ****ing heavy and ****ing slow?

and LC is neither.

edit: after some reading i've seen lacuna coil's and theater of tragedy's sound depicted as a gothic/doom-metal hybrid.

,Aug 25 2004, 17:02] so what?

This is an evanescene thread

But to further the enoyablity of off-topicness, I do have to agree in the excellency of Lacuna Coil (even though I have only heard their Comalies album).

Evanescene is still in my collection, though. Sometimes I feel like something softer, sometimes something heavier. Good to leave your options open.

well if they're back with a new album, that's good to hear

I happen to agree with you there! I've been wondering what had happened to them haven't heard anything from them for about 6 months maybe less. I did hear that the guitarist left the band, but I also heard that they found a new guy. They are still in my album collection and I can't wait for a new album to come out! :)

    • Apple reportedly looks to blacklisted Chinese memory chips as RAM prices climb by Karthik Mudaliar Image via Apple Apple is reportedly trying to get a clearance from the Trump administration to buy memory from ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) to get some relief from soaring DRAM prices. As per a report by the Financial Times, Apple approached the Commerce Department more than a month ago and also spoke to other officials and allies in Washington. For starters, CXMT is a company that's already been placed on the Pentagon's list of Chinese military companies. The Chinese company is the country's top DRAM maker. For Apple, the timing is certainly awkward but not surprising. Tim Cook had recently warned that Apple would have to raise prices because AI companies are buying up large amounts of memory for data centers, and just like that, Apple raised MacBook and iPad prices. Micron also recently revealed that customers have committed billions of dollars to secure memory supply years in advance, which shows us how aggressive securing infrastructure has become. This gives suppliers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron more leverage, while pushing hardware makers to look for alternatives. CXMT is one of those alternatives, but not the simplest one. Apple has spent many years trying to diversify parts of its supply chain away from China, especially for final assembly, while still depending heavily on Chinese manufacturing and suppliers. Even domestic brands from China are moving towards CXMT and YMTC instead of relying on Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix. For Apple, though, it would invite more scrutiny than local Chinese companies. For now, this is more like a lobbying effort rather than a confirmed supply deal. There's no official statement from either of the parties. What is clearer, though, is the pressure behind such a request. AI demand has certainly made hardware a bottleneck, and companies are trying everything they can to bring things back to normal, even if that means making politically sensitive choices. Source: Financial Times
    • I did test it a month or so back, but ... the results I expect to be on the first page are not there.
    • Neowin is saying these are good prices? Thats crazy. As others have said they are just ######. Time for big tech to bring down the prices for real not this fake crap.
    • The iFlyTek AINote 2 is among the thinnest E-Ink tablets. It has an EMR stylus, a built-in fingerprint reader, and plenty of built-in AI features. You had me until "and plenty of built-in AI features." That and any company that still does the iProduct naming trope is an immediate pass. It suggests the company isn't very imaginative or creative and is trying to piggyback off another company's success. Extremely lame. Also kind of expensive. Better choices at lower prices out there.
