Its a great little program, my only issue with it was that it wouldnt do full screen mode on my parents ****ty i810 system (which is our main photo manager system). Oh well, Photoshop Album works alright.

Maybe I'll try the newer version and see if it works.

Google is awesome for making this puppy free!!!

,Jul 16 2004, 01:04] i just noticed it now :p

btw, this may be abit offtopic (and it's not important) but i just wanna know, why is it that when i type in http://www.google.com it directs me to the google.com.sg (for singapore)

i suppose that it is on all the google sites :)

Yea I noticed quite often when I went to google.com it would send me to google.ca (I live in Canada).

They must redirect to your 'local' site based on IP or something for whatever reason.

I love the DirectX interface it gives me hints of what Longhorn should bring--everything about Picasa ooozes smooooothness. :D

I did notice though that it has a problem updating the thumbnail display if the program is open and you save new images to a folder that?s being watched. I saved one image and it updated fine, the next one I added didn?t show up until I restarted the app, even though I said to refresh from folder. I hope Google management really gets development moving on this; it?s got such great potential and is already an awesome tool as is but could be better. The Picasa forums are still active too, which is a good sign.

Nice software, but I have one or two hassles/problems with it.

1) After scanning my collections, it was using 150MEGS of memory!!!!!! After restarting the app, it is now only using 30megs, but ouch nonetheless

2) The ability to merge two albums together is limited by their names been vertically adjacent. I cannot figure out how to merge two albums with very different names :(

great, i love this software.

i thought oyu didnt like it spydie?!

i like it. just wish it did 2 things differently. looking forward to v2 to see if they make the changes.

as for free.. i'm guessing they're making 1.6 available free to all so they get people interested in the product. v2 will likely be a pay-for product or alternatively, a free v2 and a pay-for pro v2.

    • Windows 95 offered the ability to add and edit the right click menus, on a per file type basis. This feature seems to be missing in the new file explorer. Are they bringing it back as a "new" feature?
    • It's nearly time to replace my aging Founders Edition 3080, it doesn't OC as nicely as it used to and it's running around 10c warmer than it did when I first bought it.  I don't have budget for much more than what I spent on the 3080 and locally, that means the best GPU I can manage is a 9070XT. On this basis I have a few questions: 1. At present I don't use ray tracing, if this was to change, would this GPU be an issue? 2. How does it compare on a performance basis? 3. Are the drivers worse or better than those for nVidia? 4. Linux support, is it there? 5. Anything else I should be aware of if I were to make this change? 6. Is it a good idea or shall I try and keep the 3080 a little longer.
    • What OS is that? It looks a bit like Mac OS but the command line suggests it isn't, either way I like it!
    • Outlook classic is inherently better than new outlook, for a number of reasons. That said, if the only reason people need office is to read email, they should just use thunderbird.
