bangbang, does the compile revert every night? or are you just downloading and fixing the builds for everyday. i noticed you post the date, does that mean you fixed that version for that day?

My builds use the updated source. There is one trunk into which all updates and fixes are applied. I download from the trunk and then compile that newly downloaded source code using the optimizations.

http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=23 Here is a good place to read up on that stuff. Right now they are mostly doing bug fixes from merging two different branches of Firefox together. So, nothing all that new is being added right now. fact some dailys barely have one fix added. Like here http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=193045

Can I just install the new build everyday, or is there something I am supposed to do with the .mozconfig too?

P.S. Thanks for putting in the effort to do this for the FX and Neowin Community.

In the past it messed up sometimes to install new over the top of old.. it was better to uninstall FireFox first then install the new version back. That's the way I still do it. I don't know if it's still necessary. But you don't have to worry you don't lose anything by doing that. It keeps your bookmarks, extensions, tweaks and everything.. as long as they are compatible with the newer version.

I had to reinstall the smoothwheel and IEview extension;  should I expect to reinstall some extensions for every new build?

You shouldn't have to worry about those anymore as long as you are only clearing out your program directory and installing the daily builds new. Leave the profile alone.

Not sure if you want people to submit bugs here, but

Sometimes when I start Firefox now, I get an error message, which says:

"The procedure entry point ?NS_NewGenericModule2@@YAIPAUnsModuleInfo@@PAPAVnsIModile@@@Z could not be located in the

dynamic link library xpcom.dll."

I hit ok, it pops up again with the same message, I hit ok again, then Firefox starts and runs fine.

P.S. Thanks again, its is running noticeably faster.

Ehhrm... I used the 1/2 build up until yesterday, and I'm not sure if it was something I misconfigured or something but if I'd click a download, it just would load forever... If I'd go to the url with IE it started the download immediately, while FF never downloaded it at all...

Could this be a problem with the build itself or something I did wrong?

It works fine now I did a complete removal of firefox and copied the important parts out of my profile and pasted them into a new one... (build 1/6 atm)

    • Microsoft confirms a new, useful Teams' app is coming very soon by Sayan Sen In the modern digital workspace meeting recordings and summaries are very commonplace, still finding the right recap later can be surprisingly difficult. To address that inconvenience Microsoft is working on a new dedicated meeting recap application designed to bring all meeting recaps into a single, centralized location. In a recent announcement on its Microsoft 365 roadmap website, the company has confirmed the new applet and has explained how the new experience will work and why it believes it can help users stay on top of discussions without having to search through multiple chats, calendars, or files. For those unfamiliar, meeting recaps provide a summary of key discussions, decisions, action items, and other relevant information generated after a meeting ends. They are intended to help participants revisit important points while also allowing those who missed the meeting to quickly catch up on what happened. Traditionally locating older recaps could require users to navigate through various conversations or meeting histories. The new meeting recap app aims to simplify that process by gathering all available recaps into one dedicated hub. According to Microsoft, this should make it easier to browse past meetings, review outcomes, and stay informed about ongoing projects and discussions. One notable feature of the applet is the addition of quick filters which are meant to allow users to instantly narrow down the list of available recaps and surface specific meetings without manually searching through extensive records. Audio recap is also there. If you're wondering how long these recaps will last before self-expiring, the app will provide access to meeting recaps from the past 30 days or approximately one month. You can view the feature entry here on the official Microsoft 365 (M365) website under roadmap ID 564614. Its rollout is set to begin this month (June 2026). Do keep in mind though that new feature rollouts often get delayed.
    • Does it have couch co-op is the question I have here.
