Wow. Some of you... seriously.. lay off.

"oh sorry about your loss... but back on to more pressing issues- can I test anyways"???

What kind of crap is that.

I'm pretty sure there won't be an open beta... we've got 53 staff members who can test it on a variety of computers/browsers. It will be done when it's done.

true dat. i mean if anything, an optimized build of 3.9 would be released first.

i am almost complete with that. just need to finalize the recent posts area and recent news.

just 57 xhtml errors left and they are all in those areas. once i get to edit that area i will fix the errors and push out that build. mos likely 3.9.1.

then all work would steamroll ahead again towards the new theme and whatever else we plan for the next build of the site. i am finalzing one other project and will then be able to dedicate 100% of my resources out of work to doing the next build.

i promise you that you will NOT be disappointed. if we do not decide to do a beta, it wont matter. it will be ownage.

we have some tricks up our sleeves and none of you even know it yet. believe me.

sorry to hear of your loss.. I lost my mum suddenly a couple of months ago, and It's really hard to live with.. My thoughts are with you.

Anyways, I have total faith in you that this theme will be teh 0wnage, so don't let us down :ninja:

I'm so sorry to hear about that tox... My sincere condolences. I can honestly say that, to some degree I know what it's like, I found my 80 year old neighbour, (who was like a grandmother to me, and I'd known her all my life) dead over the X-mas break... but that's another story and is beside the point.

Either way, thank you for continuing with the great work despite your loss.

Well, anyway I've edited that picture to make my own concept off that.

Pointless, I know, but still..

I like it, although i do like the neowin logo you have, i would change it a-bit.

I would have the drop shadow going to the right, not left, and i would get rid of the two small things you have on the right of the logo.

Read your blog, My grandmother died when i was 1 and my grandfather when i was 4 but i dont know how its like but it must suck

Is the current build still looking like the preview?

yeah, unfortunately. i should begin working again in a few weeks. like i said, once i get these other priorities out the door.

besides, the things we are working on now should keep yall busy until the new skin drops anyways.

keep your eyes peeled.

    • You are clueless. The updates are done in the background so the next time you open Edge the updates are applied automatically. There is no need to close all your tabs. Just keep browsing like you normally do. Clearly you don't use Edge and are just one of those haters that complain for the sake of complaining.
    • I don't get this David. Can you explain it please.
    • Microsoft is busy. Lots of changes to be released imminently for Windows server or soon. Also, lots happening for next version as well. Third party virus scanning software is being moved out of Kernel mode to avoid repeat of Crowdstrike incident. Windows Protected Mode and Windows Ready Print no longer require third party print drivers to be installed. New storage stack being developed. New NVME drivers now available for Windows Server 2025 to improve local NVME drive performance by 60+ percent. NVME-Of of fabric being worked on for next release to improve network access to NVME drives. ReFs (next file system) now has ability to boot and will become default file system in next release of Windows Server. ReFs improves on NTFS in several areas including resiliency and reliability and scalability. New update stack is being worked on to unify Windows updates, and updates for drivers and first party/3rd party application software. A stricter and more robust third-party driver certification program (ODI) is being worked on to improve performance, thermals, battery life, and reliability on modern Windows hardware by tightening how OEMs and IHVs (Intel, AMD, Qualcomm, NVIDIA, etc.) build and ship drivers. There is a tone more but too numerous to mention.
    • Now disable that stupid OneDrive backup request when Windows starts please. So unbelievably frustrating to only have “remind me later” instead of “no and never ask me again”
    • Hello, The Media Creation Tool is still at v10.0.26100.7019 from October 2025. Just looks like the backend has been updated. Regards, Aryeh Goretsky
