its part of the game and im not saying it as an excuse. the guy that was on the mound is not some pin point control artist like pedro or schilling. he happens to have or in the top two in the league for hits batsmen, the guy said it himself. arod over reacted and his actions led to the fracus. to say none of this would have happened if the picther didnt hit arod still doesnt assign blame to arod for droppng f-bombs as he "took his base." if jeter had gotten hit by the ball what do u think the chances of that fight happening?

Jeter gets hit so much because of the way he bats, he wouldn't have said or done anything unless he knew the pitcher had done it on purpose!

Like I said earlier in the topic though, neither one had the right to do what they did! I still think that Veritek went to far. Gary Sheffield has said the samething before to Bostons picture and Veritek didn't hit him in the face!

As much as I'm not pleased with Varitek throwing the first punch, I think it is ludicrous that A-rod got mad at being hit. It wasn't an obvious throw - it hit the back of his elbow. If it was at his thigh or back or head that could be taken as intentional. Plus - the announcers mentioned that Arroyo has hit more batters per inning than anyone else in the majors!! He's hit 14 people this year. Those two factors make it really unlikely that Arroyo did it on purpose.

The announcers also made note that this type of thing would really get NY fans to love A-rod even more - and they thought it was interesting since he's normally such a level-headed guy...

That being said - I don't blame A-rod for the fiasco with the trade. He and the Rangers had agreed to the details of the trade - he was all set and excited to come to Boston - even with the pay cut. Then the friggin players union stepped in and said that the deal would hurt future player salary negotiations elsewhere in the league... So now we have no A-rod, a ****ed-off Nomar, and another chapter to add to the legend of the Bad News Bea....ummm....Red Sox... :-)

Totally agree, he was looking for a fight by running his mouth after being hit , what do you expect?

ARod may become more popular with Yankee fans but less popular with MLB fans. Varitek inst innocent either but i probably would have doen the same thing.

I disagree that he was "looking" for a fight, a lot of batters say stuff blowing off steam when they get hit and if you think otherwise, you don't watch enough baseball!

As for the Red Sox/Yankees series, congrats to the Red Sox!

Ok, first off all I watch alot of baseball. :D

Second, Arod was beaned started staring down the pitcher and having a word with him, when the cather steped in he clearly was saying f*** you, what do you expect someone to just let that go by?

Arod had to be looking for a fight, or why would he even make a big deal about something that happens everyday......HBP

      Here is the new Surface Laptop Ultra wallpaper in high resolution by Taras Buria Earlier this week, Microsoft announced the Surface Laptop Ultra, its brand-new high-end laptop powered by NVIDIA's brand-new RTX Spark processor. As usual, Microsoft gives each new device a unique wallpaper, and the Surface Laptop Ultra is no exception. While the device is not publicly available yet, somebody has already extracted its wallpaper, giving everyone a chance to get a piece of the upcoming laptop in its full-resolution glory. The Surface Laptop Ultra has a very dark, abstract wallpaper that resembles the stock wallpapers in Windows Server, albeit with much less color. Having this dark, grim wallpaper highlights the laptop's mini-LED display and its ability to cut off parts of the screen's backlight to achieve OLED-like black levels. However, if you also like light wallpapers, we made a white version by simply inverting its colors. You can download both wallpapers below (click the image, right-click it, and select "Save as"): The Surface Laptop Ultra is expected to launch later this year.
